What people say
The staff were extremely helpful, friendly but professional.aaThere was always someone on the reception desk ready and willing to answer any question or provide information. We had a seven night stay and our room was cleaned, the bed made, towels changed or hung and folded etc. every day. Very nice room - as good as far more expensive ones e.g Mariott. Courteous and helpful staff on reception desk..all reviews »
All of the above which together made an excellent experience. It was a nice, clean room at a great rate.Everything went smoothly. big room, clean, big TV, confortable bed, no noise. Conveniently located at a motorway junction, but still not noisy. The pillows are much improved. Thanks for that.convenient and no fuss. shower, size of room. Friendly and helpful staff, room very well equiped for an overnight stay. Nice room, looked brand new, very clean, good facilities. Front Desk Staff: I had a problem with my first room as there was the sound of constant running water. The on duty staff were fantastic and arranged a move without any fuss. Quiet room, despite location next to Main road.Convenient location for where we needed to be. No frills. Spacious comfortable room. Location.location to my final location, easy to get to, rooms of good standard. the beds were very comfortable. location to the main road. The size of the bed. Reception Staff. the room was very big and clean.good price for quality. We are regular visitors to the area but it was the first time we stayed with this hotel chain. Room was much better than travelodge save one important respect, poor heating (which given it was -3 when we arrived was to say the least significant). We changed the first room because of lack of heating and toilet did not flush. Convenience of location. It was convenient for go into Cambridge and for access from the motorway. Ease of access and flexibility of check in and out. when we arrived we were sent to a dirty room, which two girls near reception thought was funny whish i found very unprefessional. We learned during our stay, from friends that the hotel had gone into receivership. The staff were therefore all working without pay, which would subsequently have to be applied for from the Government. This seemed very sad to us.We have to say that the staff did not convey any stress or worry, which they undoubtably will be feeling, during our dealings with them.I was expecting breakfast included in this money. Having stayed at a 4 star B and B later in the week for £65 a night for two people, I think your prices are high.Personally I prefer a b ath to a shower!. a little cluttered with leaflets. Too far from cambridge. Bit hard to get to without a car. So would recommend it,,,,but £15 a time to get into Cambridge?! seems a bit much. Only the fact that my first room had a problem with the constant sound of running water. I think this is a kown problem with some rooms and is due the routing of the water system. OK, its not the Ritz, but for a 1 night stay, it is good value. No tea/coffee making facility in room. Room rather warm. For some reason the corridor smelt very stongly of smoke. The bathroom was not as clean as I would have liked ,tiles were dirty and the holder and the floor was covered in hairs.I was with my daughter who had a n interview the following day and to minimize stress for her I did not raise the issue at the time. The smell in the Hall ways. Air Conditioning not working and there did not seem any willingness to get it fixed. This in a room where the windows only open a few inches. Almost impossible to sleep the first night I was there. Slightly cooler the next few nights. Wifi should be included in price of stay: I need it for work and the cost totally unecessary. location on a motor atation. The air conditioning was not working and it was a very hot weekend, the window only opened a very small amount as the room was on the ground floor. It was suggested that we did not change our towels to help the environment but the heated towel rail did not work. The lighting in the room was very poor and so it was difficult to read. The sky television was limited to news and sport! No food/b'fast. Lack of decent restaurant. we only stayed at this hotel as all others in cambridge were booked and no others were available. Room was not cleaned properly. Smelt of cigarates. Ash was found in one of the drawers. Stains on wallpaper under the desk. No hot chocolate, only tea and coffee. No beer available in service area. No breakfast facility. No one at services sells breakfast cerials.Hotel cost £39 if booked direct you charged £60. Room was dirty and had holes in the walls. Had to change rooms.
