Tina and Norman MacGeoch are excellent hosts. They give you the feeling of being part of the family. My son and I were given a spacious room with 2 king size beds and an en-suite bathroom. Tina cooks for all guests both breakfast and dinner. Both meals were always delicious. The best was the per-dinner meeting of the guests in the living room for a chat and the tasting of exquisite single malt whiskies that experienced guests stood a round of drinks. We were advised what whisky distilleries sho.
all reviews » We had a great welcome into the Cadhu Country House. We arrived around a 5pm and they waiting us with a warm tea and delicious cookie and of course with their lovely dogs :) The breakfast and dinner was very very good, even you can order something that you'll like to eat, but in advance. You must to try the Fresh Scotish Salmon, very fresh exactly from the river. Big room, bathroom, very quiet and clean. Thank you for your hospitality and we will come back for sure. Having travelled around the UK for two months a very comfortable bed and good shower is important. Cardhu house provided this an more, a lovely big room with great country views. Our host and hostess were both most friendly, informative and accommodating. Evening and breakfast meals were delightful. We felt very much at home at Cardhu and wished our stay could have been longer than two nights. The overall hotel was fabulous. Loved the location, the charm of the old buidling and the hopsitality of the owners. They were welcoming, helpful with travel / touring details, took the time to make me feel welcome. I chose to have dinner at the hotel - which was excellent. Overalll, it was a wonderful weekend and I wlll definitely be back. I have alread booked another stay for May, 2014. Extraordinary breakfast, comfortable room with much space. We had also the 3-course dinner which was delicious. If you need any advice on distilleries, ask the owner - he knows, what he's talking about! We would come back any time again. Norman and his Team were fantastic and really accommodating, rather than guests we felt part of the family. The food was outstanding and the service first class. The dogs are also adorable. Great place and highly recommended. A very helpful couple and they were very understanding of a change in my circumstances which meant that I had to depart inside of my cancellation notice period and they waived teh cost of the room i could have lost. The staff were very friendly and went out their way to help with our special dietary requirements. A very good week was had by the two of us, we will be back to use this establishment again. Norm is a great host and his wife Tina is a wonderful cook. the food was amazing! In general, it was a perfectly comfortable stay and we look forward to staying there again next year. I missed a wardrobe in our room. The Cardhu Country House is not fully licensed, therefore you are asked to bring your own alcoholic beverages. (But with the help of Norman this can be handled easily.). There is nothing that you cannot like. Dinner was a little too expensive. Nothing. The plumbing was not very good, fluctuating flow of hot and cold water and water pressure. It was a hot day, we would have liked to have been able to open the windows more. If you don't like cooked breakfast this might not be the best place to go. Nothing. Lack of signage outside property.
