There was a great view from the front of the cottage. We stayed in melyn and the real log fire made the room lovely and cosy. We went to climb pen-y-fan which was about a half hour drive but the snow was too deep, so we went sledging on a hill about 15 mins from the cottages and had a great time! We will certainly be returning soon. I loved the view from the cottage it was lovely, the area was quiet the owners were there to greet you they were great and very accommodating going back for New Year loved it especially the log burning fires x.
all reviews » Gorgeous place and great value for money, and a lovely warm welcome from the owners, cottages were perfect, verything you could want and lovely and warm in the winter. Very cosy, friendly owners, easy to find and get to the Brecon Beacons national park, the downstairs cottage would also be great for less mobile people. The Cottages were lovely, especially the heated floors, which was nice in the mornings. Exactly the break we needed. Will definately return some day. It is a lovely and welcoming experience and we have stayed there a few times now, it is quiet and the log burning fires are lovely. Amazing place, very relaxing, excellent views, owners were very helpful couldnt ask for anything more definately go back!!. Very clean and lovely place to spend a few nights. The cottages are a good base for the brecons. the cottage we stayed in was of a good standard and the owners very friendly and helpful.We thought there was a log fire but it was just electric. Dogs, as not to easy to lie in with dogs barking did not realise farmhouse so near perfect if early riser. we cld of done with more space to store our clothes as we were living out of our suitcase. Quite hard to find.

The farm has direct access to a huge area of open countryside with a network of footpaths, bridleways and mountain bike trails. There is a barn which is used for cycles and other outdoor equipment.

Fresh water fishing is available locally on Nant Moel and Maerdy reservoirs, and golf at nearby Aberdare and Mountain Ash Golf Clubs. The Celtic Manor Golf Resort, host to the 2009 Ryder Cup, is 40 minutes' drive away.

The cottages are on the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, and railway enthusiasts must visit the narrow gauge Brecon Mountain Railway.
