The hotel staff are very friendly, cheerful, accomodating and helpfull. The hotel atmosphere is cosy and homely. Breakfast is wonderful and the room very clean and cosy. The room has coffee/tea facility but they provide hot water in a flask. Having a small child, I need an electric kettle to make milk at night. I didnt bother asking them to provide, and bought one the next day. To my delight, they sent me an electric kettle in the afternoon. My only regret is that was not able to say goodbye an.
all reviews » If you look for a perfectly located hotel with local flair, you will love Djem. We booked a de Luxe room (located on the second floor in the building facing the mosque). Here, the view is magnificent. The owner runs a shop in the nearby art bazaar and all over the hotel and the room you will find beautiful examples of traditional and contemporary Kelim art. Personnel is great and speaks good to excellent English. Of course you hear the Muezzin at night, but that just adds to the oriental charms. I stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in the deluxe triple room which is in the second building of the hotel . The hotel is situated in the historical area of Istanbul , really very close - few walking minutes of Blue Mosk , Topkapi palace etc . It is unbelievable how nice and how beautiful is designed inside . I want to thank again to the hotel personel . They are very, very kind and they are doing everything to help you and to make you to feel very well .For sure if I'll travel for pleasure i. Location, location, location! An ideal hotel for seeing the sights in the historic Sultanahmet region of Istanbul. No need to walk uphill or take transport. Everything is practically right out the front door. Located just outside the walls of the Blue Mosque in a fully refurbished old wooden building it provides far more than first impression suggest. About a 5 minute walk to the Cistern's, the Obelisk, the Blue Mosque, and not quite 10 minutes to the Hagia Sophia. Only has 6 rooms, which is very nice and relaxing. Morning prayers from the Blue Mosque is very loud, it only lasts for few minutes though. It doesn't has a lift. There was not heating in the bathroom, and the bath (tube) was a little small. I hope they lower the price little bit^^. Although nice small hotel..., there is not elevator..., specially after a long day exploring Istambul on your feet. A bit far away to the T1 station.
