I have marked everything as excellent here except value which I've said is average. I'll explain this first. This is one of 7 hotels we will have stayed in by the end of our trip and the most expensive of the lot. In saying that it is still reasonable in terms of what we would pay at home for hotels. We paid just over £300 for 3 nights bed and breakfast and really we thought it was entirely worth it. It is a bit of a distance from the main town but we were content with that. The beach, the view.
all reviews » This is paradise! We were looking for a great place to stay with our 10 month old baby. Before going we checked the reviews and started to doubt. It turned out that all he bad things in the reviews were over exaggerated. The bungalows are on a hill but you can ask for a free pickup service to and from your bungalow at the reception and by phone (even though it is just a 5 minute walk. You do need to move if you want a fantastic scenery view from your balcony :) Snorkeling is great. The beach is. What an amazing location! The view from our terrace baloncy was absolutely amazing. Beach and sea are fabulous. Long tail boat taxi will take you to pier for around 200 baht or you can walk along trail, not recommended unless you are good with heat! Buffet breakfast has wide variety of foods eat as much as you like. Hotel provides beach towels and tuk tuk will take you to and from your bungalow, essential as bungalows are situated on very steep hill sides, once you see the view over lookin. We loved the views from the hotel both the bar area and the rooms. They were spectacular. The breakfast was nice. The location is unique. We loved how you could hire your own long boat for a reasonable price with a driver to go around phi phi ley and other places around the islands! The food in the restaurant was good. The room and the shower in the room are lovely! Very spacious. Loads of privacy and you have you're own deck too. Also all of the soft drinks and water in the mini bar are all co. I have traveled extensively and this is by far my favourite beach resort. If you're looking for a big impersonal hotel experience, this isn't for you. This is an intimate, romantic resort with charming individual upscale teak "huts" and the most stunning sea views. The beds are very comfortable, the bathroom is quite large and has a separate toilet and semi-outdoor huge shower which is amazing. The beach is not overly busy, has comfortable beach lounges and umbrellas and the most spectacular . The location was stunning. Right on Long Beach (for those of you using a taxi ferry who were concerned) it was a visually stunning experience. The weather in the Phuket/Phi Phi area hadn't cooperated the previous few days but opened up on our single full day there and it was absolutely stunning. Going over to the town and having all of the touristy variety that comes from tons of people from all over the world while not drowning in tourist prices (like Phuket) made the experience in Phi Phi won. This resort exceeded all our expectation! A completely stunning setting, the rooms and houses are a superb way to relax. The hotel restaurant offer fabulous food at good prices, and the beach is only 1 second away! I would recommend this resort to anyone! Although located a distance from Phi Phi town, the walk ( when water taxis are not available) is not long, or hard! We managed to do it in the rain! And it adds to the excitement and beauty of the resort. Location is quiet and isolated, yet only a short longboat ride away from Tonsai Bay for nightlife. The beach is beautiful and you can rent snorkel gear for cheap to go look for blacktip reef sharks. Stunning views of the ocean. Price includes bottled water and some snacks in the room. Rooms are spacious with a big balcony. Great breakfast buffet. Free longboat rides to/from pier on day of arrival/departure. The fact that every room virtually has a sea view - beautiful sea view. The beach is very good too - sandy bottom, no complaints. Dive Centre at the hotel is not bad although the diving is crappy. The food in the restaurant is really overpriced as well as the drinks. There is a bar 2 metres from the hotel - virtually attached to it that is awesome though, drink there. Overall great resort. Great location on long beach. The first nights we stayed in one of the deluxe rooms with sea view - it was fantastic. The bungalow was huge and the outdoor shower was amazing. The bungalow was very clean, bed comfortable (for Thailand where most beds are very hard). I would say the deluxe bungalows are more like 4 star then a 3 star hotel and would definitely recommend them to anyone. There are few words that describe the resort: paradise, amazing, relax, beach awesome!!! Long beach is the best beach of the island!!! Also the staff, they were so nice, always with an happy smiling face, so polite and always helpful. the room was fantastic a wonderful view of phi phi leh!!! If u don't. We liked the location the most; a very quite place at Phi Phi, not far away from the cozy pier (you have to go by boat, but it is a beautiful surrounding to walk for 30 minutes). The room was tidy and they offer an extensive breakfast is. The choice for lunch and diner are very good. The personnel was very nice and helpful. Excellent staff: from longtail boat pickup at the Ton Sai Pier to people at the reception, people who took our luggage to our bungalow, people from the bar/restaurant and the bungalow cleaners. Far enough away from the village ( I wouldn't want to be closer) A beautiful stretch of white sandy beach with excellent snorkeling from the shore (boats drop snorklers from other resorts there for snorkeling) Nice spacious rooms with extra large king size beds. Everything was exactly what we expected. Friendly and helpful staffs, private beach in front of the resort. everynight, they also have an amasing fire performance on the beach. If you don't like the beach, it is a swimming pool at the resort. will stay here next time when we travel to Phi Phi. The Luxury rooms! - We switched in the middle to the superior, and we upgraded it, it was just not comparable, I think that the hotel get bad reviews because of the superior rooms... The resort is situated in one of the best spots of the inland , in front of the Shark point ! Room was recently restored and the view from was just amazing. Location was great: you can reach noice center by taxi-boat but on the beach only guest from jtel. Great location and after other hotels in Thailand I can say that this one was the best. Cost of the boat to and from town. 100 baht each way pet person, goes up to 150 after dark. Also free check out boats don't coincide with ferries or check out time. The reviews of grumpy tourists that do not appreciate paradise. A hint to others. Cats are always in Asia and they are funny. If there is a leaf in the pool you can still swim in it. And the employees are still very nice and helpful if they help you within 10 seconds instead of 2. It is vacation: relax! :). By Thailand standards the bungalows are not cheap but the beauty of this island is worth whatever you pay. The lets sea bar which we don't think is part of the hotel is a cool place but A little over priced and the main lady there made us feel like we were a nuisance by ordering a drink. The breakfast was good but could offer a greater variety. The huts are on a hillside so if you don't want to walk up much, ask for one closer to the beach. It would have been nice to have had the option to get a taxi long tail boat to the town provided by the hotel. We paid $350 for 2 nights which, by Thailand rates, is quite high. But it was a pretty trivial expense all things considered. Our shower was malfunctioning, and although the staff came to try to fix it, the shower was never 100% working. When we took a shower early morning, there was no hot water. Also, the bathroom (which is separate from the rest of the room) smells like sewage water. The food at the restaurant is a bit pricey compared with Tonsai Bay. No ATM at this hotel, but they only take cash for food and snorkel trip bookings. The rooms are quite far away from the beach and the main hotel area. Like a good 5 minute walk - however this can be negated by calling the cars to pick you up and drop you back and giving the boys a little tip. The hotel was quite busy when we where there so after a couple night we had to change to a superior room since all the deluxe where taken. The superior bungalows are totally different from the deluxe ones. The standard is poor and the bungalows are very worn. These bungalows are absolutely over praised and not worth the money you pay. I would say they are more like 2 star bungalows. The restourant is expensive and the food is not so nice. There were a couple of blackouts each day didn't last more than 5mins. Didn't bother us it was fun having dinner in the dark. Bathroom was pretty small but overall can't complain. Loved it!. Actually nothing. The water was brown for a couple of times, but I think you have to expect this in this surrounding. It is true that there are a couple of cats walking around the area, but it was not annoying for us. Many guest do feed these cats, but they shouldn't do that. That's why they are still coming back. Anyhow, we think your stay at the Phi Phi The Beach Resort is a wonderful travel experience and we hope you will enjoy this place as much as we did!!!!. The food and drinks are really expensive and on top of that the hotel charges a "10% service fee" for everything you order. So what is already expensive becomes 10% more expensive at all times. Nothing. The location is great for couples, but can be problematic as you need a long tail boat to get/get out of the hotel, and it's not available at night time. Food is more expensive than anywhere else in Thailand . I guess we pay the place . Staff lacked knowledge in basic things. For example I asked how long does a taxi boat take to reach Maya beach and no one had any idea. They also didn't understand that a cheeseburger should be served with cheese. Funny really, but if you have little patience, this could bother you quickly!. Hard bed as in most Thai hotels. No hot water to basin or plug (shower is great). No wifi in rooms (they are very spread out) but OK at the restaurant/reception. Much improved breakfast this year - an expresso machine!! Not cheap but worth every baht!. The superior rooms. Far from Tonsai Pier, where all the tours depart and the restaurants/stores are located. To go there you will need a long tail boat (about US$ 4) or walk in a jungle for 40 minutes. Our bungalow wasn't too far from the beach, but some of them might require a long walk. The food in the restaurant wasn't very nice, and was very overpriced. Construction work could be heard on some mornings. There were lots of biting ants around the swimming pool/restaurant. Not too much happening in the evenings, which meant having to get taxi boats back and forth from Tonsai at 150 Baht per person, per trip. Water is a big problem in the level 2and 3 villas. We stayed in the superior villas with sea view and had to skip showering the first night due to polluted tab water ( all yellow). The 2nd night we asked for another room for taking shower and had to change twice till we got a first level room. The resort staff seem to be fully aware of the issue and appeared clueless in how to solve it. They suggested leaving the water running for 30 mins but it did not work at all. Mosquitos. Breakfast wasn't great. Nothing. Difficult getting boat to main town phi phi don in evenings due to low tide. But we were happy to eat in restaurants along long beach (not many). i didn't like our pillows. Room was ok, but just average..there is no english tv if you just wanted to kick back and not do anything. Seafood is way overpriced!!! No music or causal entertainment. They should change on booking.com that they do not accept mastercard/visa. I paid with mastercard without any problem or extra fee. No Gym facilities. the rooms are very old and need total renovation. it is completly rundown. The beach boys are not so friendly. Some staff was not so friendly as I would expect from Thai people. More smiles would be great. Resort was very clean but surrounding was terrible. Everywhere waste, bottles, even on the hotel recommended way to town and other beach. I think it would not be so hard to clean it and our experience would be much more better. Some rooms are located on a hill so you need transfer service to get there. But it can be obtained at the front desk easily 24h. more free long boat to tong sai is better. The only negative thing I'd say was that the breakfast in the morning wasn't the best stuff like beans ect we're cold. 空调太吵。wifi只有公共区域才能用，而且信号不太稳定。. The hotel can be reached by public ferry from either Rassada Pier in Phuket or Klong Jirad Pier in Krabi. From Phuket: Phuket International Airport is a 1 hour drive from/to Rassada Pier. From the pier, it takes about 2 hours on a public ferry to reach Tonsai Pier on Koh Phi Phi Don. After reaching Tonsai Pier, guests have to take a 10-minute ride on a long-tail boat to Phi Phi The Beach Resort. Public ferry schedules are as follow: Rassada Pier to Tonsai Pier: 08:30 and 13:30 Tonsai Pier to Rassada Pier: 09:00 and 14:30 From Krabi: Krabi International Airport is a 45 minutes drive from/to Klong Jirad Pier. From the pier, it takes about 2 hours on a public ferry to reach Tonsai Pier on Koh Phi Phi Don. After reaching Tonsai Pier, guests have to take about a 10-minute ride on a long-tail boat to Phi Phi The Beach Resort. Public ferry schedules are as follow: Klong Jirad Pier to Ton Sai Pier: 09:00 and 13:30 Tonsai Pier to Klong Jirad Pier: 09:00 and 15:30 Kindly contact the property directly for more details. The resort provides free boat transfer from Phi Phi pier to the resort. Please note that the complimentary service is only available based on the arrival of ferry from Krabi and Phuket.
