Built into a cliff on Haad Yao, west of Phangan Island, High Life Bungalow offers Balinese and Thai-style accommodation with steps leading down to the beach. Private bathrooms have hot-water showers. High Life Bungalow is a 10-minute walk from Ao Chao Prao and a 15-minute drive from Thongsala Main Pier. Haad Yao beach was by far the best beach I visited on Koh Phangan, and the High Life Bungalows had an amazing view of it perched on top of the rocks at the south of the beach. The restaurant served excellent breakfasts, lunches, dinners and drinks (smoothies and cocktails). It appeared to be the cheapest on Haad Yao beach, had the best view from the restaurant and all the food we had was delicious. The staff are nice and laid back, but very friendly and attentive. We stayed in a Delux sea view .
all reviews » We're a family of 3 with a 5 Y.O. boy. We spent 5 days at High Life and had a wonderful time there. The hotel has a great atmosphere and you can feel life flowing throughout this place. The hotel's on a cliff, the views are incredible. There is a short passage down the stairs to one of the greatest beaches on Koh Phangan - Haad Yao, which is very convenient. The pool with infinity view is clean and moderately big for a pool on a cliff. It's great both at daytime and night. There's a massage sp. Although I had seen the high rating on letsbookhotel.com, I was still slightly apprehensive on the journey from the pier to the hotel just in case it didn't meet the high expectations...I needn't have worried! The High Life Bungalow is a really nice place in a great location (two nice beaches either side), the food was really good, the room was nice with a great view (we booked sea view bungalow) and the staff were completely fantastic; so friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay there aga. Very friendly and helpfull staff and owners, great and cheap food. Good choice for chill out stay. Pick up and bike rent possible. Good value for money. Massage lady gives proper thai massage :) Didn't try the pool, but the view is onto the sea & white sand beach- just like on the pics. Motorbike needed to explore the island. There is 7/11 close by and it takes about 15 min to get to Tong Sala city center. AC bungalow simple but good enough just for sleeping. I have been travelling the world for more than 15 years. This place is secluded, comfortable and luxourious at the same time. It's gorgeous for families with kids and has excellent food and service. We will always return to this abode. Silence and relaxation, no place for party folks, it offers stunning views from the high compfy bungalows overlooking the sea, sitting in a jacuzzi on the balcony. Highly recommended!!. Owner/Manager and his wife were wonderful. The staff were friendly and efficient without being intrusive. My bungalow was pleasant, the bed comfortable and the equipment adequate, aircon, tv and fridge. The terrace was a great place to start and end the day but I lost the sun at about 2:30pm which was a nuisance. The cleaners were great and the room tidy and fresh after each visit. The environment is very close to the nature and I can enjoy my stay there completely relaxing and without stress. Me n my friends were kinda like the relaxing atmosphere there reading books ,have some drinks chill out with friends while listening to the sound of waves from seaside. For people for love natures and quiet place to stay this is definitely one of ur choice ;). Visited this hotel 3 times in 2 years. The Garden view bungalow at 900 BATH = great deal ! By far the best choice of room category in this hotel. The staff was very nice and restaurant too. The rooms are ok, not big and the double bed was a bit small, but other then that everything was good. Great place at good value.. the bungalow are in the middle of the green and the pool is great, at the top of the montain with a great view to the beach.. Location, size of the bungalows, the big terrace, the bathtub on it, close to the beach. The view from our balcony!!!. not too much !. I wasn't too keen on having to leave. nothing really, just to keep in mind it is situated on the hill so going to the beach best way is by the road - few minutes. There is a direct sea access ( no beach per say) by the resort but depending on the water level it is not always usable. The funny parrot might steal your lighter, but it's rather a minor problem and only takes a bit of awareness ;-). No sun on the terrace after 2:30pm. Paid on arrival with a Visa Debit but still had to pay a 3% surcharge. Not much. A lot of stairs though. Nothing. Staff is a bit cold, strange, but fair. Too many staff made it confusing who to ask or order from. Some were pretty grumpy during the stay. Steps down to "beach" just led to rocks. Getting to beach was a longer walk into town. The garden bungalow's bathroom need an overhaul. They were old, moldy and not very well cleaned either. It's a little far from the island centre but it's not difficult to get there, and that's what makes it so relaxing. L'odeur d'égout de la douche. Il n'y a qu'à mettre un plastique sur le trou probablement parce qu'il n'y a pas de "P Trap". the frogs, haha :D. Had to wade through water and climb rocks to get to beach. No beach chairs or towels. No drinks by the pool. the garbage on the territory of the hotel. The bathroom was not really the best.. The beds van use some new matrasses and sheets. The towels looked old. Service in the restaurant was slow - had to wait 40 Minutes for my drink. the beach was so dirty !!!!!!!!.
