Jetwing Sea, thank you. A lovely hotel, staffs were so friendly and service was great, breakfast was yummy. I check-in early morning 3am, reception no problem at all. Stay for 4 nights before head off to Kandy. Room was cozy, great seaviews, comfy and everyday the staff never fail to ask: Mdm do you need anything? House-keeping?. Very caring staffs, Good job. If next year visiting Srilankan, I will stay in this hotel and request to stay in room 314 again.
all reviews » We found the hotel to be very pleasant and the staff super friendly and very helpful.The room right next to the pool with its own patio was great and even better the view of the sea was amazing! Our room was spacious with a sitting area, a huge bathroom with both a shower and bath. A hotel we will definitely visit again! The buffet breakfast was excellent with an abundance of local produce on offer too. I loved the fact that our room opened directly onto the beach. Staff were great - particularly the older lady on reception. She made sure we had some breakfast before we left for the airport! Restaurant food was amazing - best crab cakes I've ever had!. The hotel is big and very nice, the rooms have everything including internet and the bathtub is amazing! Also, even though we had to leave very early and the buffet breakfast was not open, they prepared a breakfast for us at 4:00 A.M.!!. Deluxe rooms are better, all with ocean view or pool view. Nice interior with a design twist, very helpful, friendly staff at reception in restaurants etc. Quiet and calm atmosphere, delicious food in both restaurants. We liked the seaside location and the access to the beach and sea. The swimming pool was inviting. The Dinner was great with a wide choice and all the staff were friendly an dmade us welcome. Good food. Nice restaurant view opening onto beach. Fantastic swimming pools, one is 25 metres long. Great for lap swimming, hardly any one else in it. Our room had a great view of the ocean, the room is well furnished with a modern design. Make sure you try the spa treatments they offer. Lovely room - big comfy bed. I booked this hotel because my flight was arriving early in the morning I at 5am was left for 30 min to check in and was very disappointed because had asked for an extra bed and was asked to pay for an extra room for 165$!!! I was staying for 4 hrs only this was ridiculous they did not follow the terms on letsbookhotel.com and said they had not confirmed my special request ,the rooms smelled dingy due to the proximity of the sea overall I was glad I was just a passer by. - Proximity to airport, as I arrived late at night. - having breakfast overlooking the beach. Breakfast was very good quality and varied. Staff were friendly and helpful. Deluxe Rooms were nice. There wasn't much to say on the 'could have done better" side. The snack menu was a bit limited - could have done with a few salad options but then you could have had one from the main menu. The portion size of some of the al a carte menu options was inconsistent E.G. if you had the Sri Lankan curry option it was almost too much to eat( although we had a good go!) but the Thai prawn curry portion was tiny. However the staff quickly fetched more once this was pointed out. Because of a religious holiday we were not served any alcohol. The hallways are a little ugly. should be ready that bills do not include taxes (VAT, local) and service. The road leading to the Hotel - narrow, rough & bumpy! But, accept that the access may not be in your power to remedy. nothing, stayed for 2 nights, and was impressed by the service. The food is not so good these days. Meat and fish always dry and over cooked. I have been staying in the Jetwing Hotels for a few years now; I don't enjoy my meals there. Poor wi-fi in rooms. Few tv channels. mosquitoes were a big problem even inside the rooms... Dirty beach although the Hotel did make an effort to clean it up every day.The problem is more a local council issue. Extra tax and charges. Lots of road noise. Pretty expensive for the size and quality of room. The room price was a bit high as was the taxi to the airport. Upon arrival we were told by reception staff that they did not have our booking even though we provided proof of booking and a booking reference number. We were then told there were no standard rooms available and we would have to pay an up charge for a deluxe room. We are not idiots and didnt fall for this scam so refused to pay any more than we had already confirmed. As it happened a standard room very quickly became available! Totally unacceptable service. - Rooms are definitely not worth 15000 LKR/night. - Terrible air conditioning. Too humid inside and not well sound or weather proofed (bedding was damp from the humidity outside). - bathroom needed renovating. Standard rooms are very basic and can do with modernisation. Pool filthy on the day we arrived. Service was utterly horrible in every aspect - 1 hour to check in, an hour for room service, an hour to get pool towels, etc. Staff is so clueless we were bewildered again and again. Definitely not worth the price. We got standard room what should be enough for 1 night, however we've got totally disappointed. A/C not working properly, no possibility to open windows as the room gets totally wet immediately. We woke up with the floor full of water.
