Myself and husband stayed at Columbus for the 4th time room was a studio apartment very big and maids cleaned every day, staff where pleasant and helpful and Hotel was very clean, if need quiet room you need new block at back of hotel by other swimming pool, the sun shines that side all day also shines if in rooms with odd numbers as face swimming pool. We where in room 419 fourth floor. Hotel really good if people jump in pool during night they are fined or asked to leave Hotel, Location is fa.
all reviews » The studio room we stay in was very big ,it was clean it was one of the best apts I stayed in .couldn't fault it at all.staff were excellent very helpful. Very friendly staff, all requests were solved in shortest timeframes. Apartment on the highest floor is great, both sea and mountains view!. It was cheap and cheerful, I was expecting it to be awful after reading some of the reviews but was very pleasantly surprised. Friendly and helpful staff, busy and lovely atmosphere, very clean, wonderful location and brilliant value for the money!. Really close to the center, staff friendly. Also allowed us to have a late check out. Nice clean pool area, big balconey. central to most things,bars,cafes,shops.Hotel lobby area spotless. Staff friendly enough.check in was easy. Nothing to do with the apts it was the way people staying in columbus gathered round the sunbeds not giving people a chance. The cleaner came for the first 3 days then didn't come at all for the following 4, then when she finally did she knocked at the door at 9am and I asked her to come back a bit later because neither of us were dressed and I was just getting into the shower, she was very rude to me and rolled her eyes before walking off, when she came back later she didn't change our towels or leave us more toilet roll so when we returned we had no toilet roll even though she'd just been. All inclusive drinks weren't very nice, entertainment was very basic. Not enough sun beds. lack of sunbeds.floors a bit dirty.no air conditioning in one half of hotel complex. Not enough sun beds for size of hotel.I asked at reception about internet and was told I could not connect but by end of week I discovered it had free internet. The cost of the tv which wouldn't have been too bad except two of the English channels were not working. Noisy at night. Not enough sun beds to cater for all. The staff are a bit rude. cockroach on the kitchen. We had to pay 25€ for the safe and the deposit were only 10€ of them. To get a remotecontrol to television or the a-c it was the same for each thing. Expensive! No wifi at the hotel. The pool was to cold so we didnt even take a bath. The cost 3 € to use, and the washing machine cost 5€. Much noise at night but we didnt bother so much altough we had a 15 month old son with us. Their not enough sun longers for guests and then some that was their broken,pool not open til 10 and havin to be their few mins b4 hand to que for sun lounger. Quiet noisy at nite. chaos for sunbeds, no free air conditioning. Floor dirty cobwebs in rooms. Very noisy at night. Very rough. Poor cooking facilities. Tv in the rooms costs 1eur p/hr. WiFi €25 per week and it's not great. Not a great for family with kids. The cockroaches in the apartment. No Wi FI at the room. No tv for free. No warmup pool! No view from the balcony, and I lived at 4 floor! Loud music from 10 clock in the morning from pool area. Tiny elevators! Useless place. The floors are always dirty! Cockroaches can be met in the bathroom! The electricity is not stable. Hotel reported a gym but it was not available when I arrived. I enquired about this from reception but they were not helpful. I asked for disabled accommodation not available.to many cockeroches in room 343. cockroaches in bedroom , small and old uncomfortable beds. poor cooking facilities . dirty room . definately not 3 star hotel . the worst I have ever stayed . nightmare. expensive tv meter . Very noisy . Very rough . Poor cooking facilities. As soon as I arrived the guy at the front desk was very rude. They didn't have a card machine and had made me go to the atm machine with my bank card with I went over my daily limit and then I had to use my credit cards with I got an extra charge. it was very loud at night people making a noise etc. the rooms wasent very clean. Big cracks in the walls fridge full of ice floor dirty cobwebs in rooms Bar staff ripping you off No cooker just two rusty electric rings + fue utensils. What a disgraceful hotel. It wasn't cheap and cheerful but cheap and nasty. We had six rooms and they were all of the same standard. No air-con, cobwebs and dust everywhere and the sheet and towels were smelly. Reception staff were down right rude and totally unhelpful.Have stayed in much, much nicer places in Las Americas and they've been cheaper.
