Originally built in the Baroque style of the 18th Century, the Casa de Las Mercedes is a beautifully decorated design hotel, located right in the heart of historical Málaga.
One of Málaga's many fine restored historical buildings, the Casa de Las Mercedes boasts stunning ceramic floors, wooden roof beams, sculptures and brass and silver bathroom fittings.
The spacious rooms, which combine traditional decoration with modern facilities, include a minibar, safe, air conditioning, TV and a bathroom with a hairdryer.
You can find several restaurants and bars in Plaza de la Merced, just 200 metres from Casa de las Mercedes. The Roman Theatre is a 5-minute walk from the property, and Malaga Cathedral is 500 metres away.

What people say
The town centre location is excellent with most attractions within easy
walking distance. The entire area is filled with great bars, restaurants
and tapas establishments. We had the family suite, it was huge with a
sitting/bedroom that contained two balconys, two twin beds, a large
settee and table and chairs. I have been in smaller chapels. The roof
was high, adding to the spacious and airy feeling. The double bedroom
was more than adequate with good storage space. The bathroom was a

Malaga as destination for city-trip is a wonderful place. You can visit
it literally on foot within 3-4 days. It has enough to offer for
tourists seeking relaxing on a beach, hiking, enjoying excellent
cuisine or visiting museums. Casa de las Mercedes is as neat, romantic
and unique as it seems on the website photos. All receptionists are
lovely, well English-speaking and helpful ladies. Breakfast was
delicious and big enough. Although hotel was located in close vicinity
of very busy square, re.
The hotel (converted from a historic house) is charming and has real Spanish character. It is on a narrow traffic free street so very quiet although only a short walk from the Plaza de la Merced with many bars and restaurants nearby. Our room was quite small but beautifully decorated with a very high wooden ceiling and exposed beams. Staff were friendly and helpful (especially Fatima who kindly arranged for our luggage to be stored on the day of departure) and communication from the hotel be.
We loved the baroque architecture of the building and the relevant decor. It's location in the old town area of this vibrant city made it a great base for walking to the Larios and the tourist attractions. The reception staff were very welcoming and helpful. We checked well after midnight and were met and guided to the hotel door by the night manager.
Free Wifi . It was so nice to stay in a small hotel in the heart of the old town. There is a car park around the corner which is very convenient. The beds were really comfortable and we all slept very well. Breakfast was served in a nice little dining room and it was very relaxing and there was a good selection .
The room and bathroom were very clean and nicely decorated - as well as
the other parts of the hotel. Hotel is in a quiet street close to plaza
de la merced and the center. They have a deal with parking garage
atalantida close by so you get special price.
Location is good + Casa de las Mercedes a gem of an accomodation. The room was compact but quite comfortable. The staff were pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was sufficient.
I liked location of Casa Mercedes. In the heart of the old city, it was so easy to find our place and get to other places that were points of interest.
Good location, very friendly staff. Small but functional and clean rooms. Excellent Price/quality. We recommend especially for short stay.
Charming old building and in good, quiet location. Very warm welcome and
helpful receptionist (Cecilia?). Room and bathroom very clean.
Lovely room full of character. Great location. Exceptional breakfast pastries. Very helpful staff. Car parking very convenient.
The apartment was spacious and comfortable.
The location was quiet but only a short walk to the cathedral.
The hotel breakfast was excellent. The staff friendly and it was very convenient for all the shops.
Clean rooms fabulous old building friendly staff good location and breakfast included.
The street where the acco was located. The design was nice. A lot of warm water...
Great location and quiet, friendly helpful staff, good breakfast fab coffee.
Helpful and friendly. Great location. Value for money. Characterful.
Lovely building, excellent location and pleasant helpful staff.
Nice enough hotel, excellent location, decent value for money.
Excellent breakfast, good location, great price.
location - good for shops, bars.cafes etc.
Centrally-located, historic character.
Location, Breakfast, quiet place.
We stayed here for only one night before our flight back. It's not in the cleanest prettiest part of town, so I wouldn't recommend it. But since we had already been in Malaga before, we knew how to get to the closest square and to the Picasso museum which is close. It's fairly quiet but not totally, as the rooms open to the hall and it's all tile and glass. Nice host. No public spaces.
Clean, budget-friendly, good service.
Great position and helpful staff.
Location. Stylisation.
There was nothing we did not like. This is not a comfort-zone chain
hotel, we guess its typically Spanish and that it why we chose it, for a
totally different experience. Daytime and evenings buzz with excited
locals, but the nights settled into a fairly quiet pattern, except maybe
for a couple of local dogs.
The fact that our holidays came to an end.....
There are some very dilapidated buildings on the street where the hotel is located which are unsightly, but at least two of them are already in the process of renovation so I'm sure this will improve.
Nothing about this typical small friendly hotel can be disliked . It is not a chain hotel and offers cultural excellence both in the service and food.
No hot water in the morning so we had to have a cold shower .
When we arrived the hotel was closed, so we called the number they put
in case the recption was closed. We actually had to call 8 times before
someone picked up - a bit stressful. Once called, the guy arrived within
5 min. Rooms are a bit small and there was no heating in the bathroom -
which was a bit chilly in the morning.
It needs some noise buffering, both from people inside walking on the tile floors with roller bags, and outside, where the lively folks party until dawn. I did not like that the front area was small and not very charming for eating breakfast. I found the staff alarming uninterested in accomodating me with concerns about early morning coffee or lack of internet access or the fact that my friend arrived after they had left for the night.
Our double room (last room on left on ground floor) was smaller than
expected from the photos on the website, with little space to move
around the bed.
We could hear the washing machine, even at night. The room is small. You can better remove the cupboard so ttheir is place for the luggage. To much sweetisch during brekfast. Picknick was of bad quality (only sweat things).
Tiny room.
Located up an alley, bathroom needs updating, needed a blanket.
Our room was totally enclosed in a corridor with no view.
Uncomfortable bed.
Location. A bit distant from town, not the best neighborhood, although we had no problem at all.
small room with only window opening onto inner patio at ground level. lights fused!.
Too loudly outdoor in the morning, because of the echo in the
narrow street.
