This is an excellent place, the first time I have done this type of accommodation and I don't want to oversell it in case the readers of this review cause it to be full next time I try to make a booking. What is there to like about Castillo Player we in short - The place, the location, the owners, the management, modern facilities, it is close to every thing (beach, Bar, Bus, Airport) quiet, peaceful, clean, the food, the cost, well maintained, looks good, short transfer time.
all reviews » It was an excellent relaxing holiday. They did not try to sell trips, all the usual add ons. We were left to our own devises, but when they were apporached, they were cordial, friendly and very helpful. This is the first time, that self catering actualy meant that, all utensils one needed to eat in were available. All in all, a very nice relaxing holiday, close to all ameneties. We will be returning later in the year. This is the fourth time that my group have staid at Castillo Playa bungalows and have found them excellent. They are very clean and towels are changed every few days. Clean sheets after a week. One of my group left a small bag with her mobile and credit cards near reception on leaving. I rang them up - they found it and brought it to the airport for her.. How marvellous is that?!! Staff - brilliant. Excellent value for money. I was travelling alone, looking for somewhere reasonably priced, with good access to the countryside for photogaphy and walking, but in a resort for good November temperatures and with a good choice of eating places. Caleta de Fuste is a really nice resort - quiet but with plenty of facilities. Castillo Playa was the perfect choice. I will definitely return. Great location, excellent personnel, fine beach with nearly white sand, very ambient surroundings, great island. Definitely "must visit" to all with kids, much more family friendly than huge, crowded and overpriced resorts as Playa de Las Americas in Tenerife or Maspalomas/Playa del Ingles in Gran Canaria. clean.friendly.helpfull staff,i liked the patio area with sunbeds and tables and chairs that you can sit outside your bungalow and have breakfast in the sun,its near to all the shops and restaurants and bars,also bus stop,its very good value would stay there again. Very friendly staff & most helpful the whole complex was clean & well-kept pool bar could do with opening a bit later at night , if you want piece & quiet this is the place to go & still only 2 mins from the town & beach. Location, location location. Good affordable bungalows, very close to town, lots of parking if hiring a scooter, close to the beach and all bungalows and resort kept tidy. Security guard on the gate all night. This is our second time here. If you want a relaxing holiday then stay at castillo. I loved that the bungalow was so well-maintained as some places I have stayed in have been very worn and shabby. The kitchen was very modern with kettle and toaster provided without charge. The girl who cleaned was very pleasant. This is my third time at castillo player bungalows it has great value for money facilities very very clean and lovely staff i would highly recommend this place it is idealy located two minutes from the centre but still very quiet. Location is prime advantage. Bungalows are very functional and contain everything required. pool area very tidy and certainly no problem getting beds while we were there. Despite a couple of hiccups would definately use again. Great location, excellent standard of cleanliness, the apartments were cleaned frequently. Service and food at the café bar fantastic and good value thanks Izzy. Maids and maintenance staff really friendly and helpful. Staff and location are best qualities,pool is clean and well kept as are gardens .Bungalows are basic but good value.pool bar is excellent as are its staff,food is very good and it has all the drinks you require. liked the pool bar, izzie is fantastic, nothing is too much bother for her. receptionist is great didn't catch her name, in general all the staff are great, and the complex is maintained to a very high standard. We have now stayed here at least 6 times. That really says it all about the complex. From the staff to the facilities to value for money it is great. Very close to amenities, restaurants, pubs, beach etc. Quiet area but all the above are just 2 mins walk away. Most restaurants/pubs have free Wifi. Loved the location. we were on a swim training camp, so being close to beach and bike hire was excellent. Very quiet ... no noise. Was in a very sunny bungalow as requested but no ventilation nor fan/aircon to cool down. Mattrass old and stiff so had 7 uncomfortable nights of sleep. The only thing that was a bit annoying was the slippy shower and the water splashed out all over the floor. My only concern would be if i was staying there in mid summer it does not have air conditioning which i would find too uncomfortable. Passing of information by staff was a little slack.Never informed that mattresses were available for sunbeds. Went to use laundrette but closed, couldn't see opening times anywhere. Pity the pool bar can't be manned on Fridays. Appreciate staff need time off, but couldn't someone else do it for one day even if no meals. Receptionist was abrupt and curt on arrival and downright rude when we checked out. She asked if we were checking out, took our safely deposit receipt then engaged herself in conversation with new arrivals pushing our deposit across the desk not speaking to us again. Cold pool,door and window security could be improved. nothing, no complaints, only when can i go again!!!. Nothing everything was great. no air conditioning but you can rent a fan which does help. Would have liked the wifi to be free to guests. The only thing is the poor choice of international channels on tv. Wifi could be a little less expensive. Could do with a little DIY in the bungalows (just a wobbly table and that sort of thing) but to be honest, it's fine and we were comfortable. Free WiFi in reception didn't work for me, paid WiFi worked in cafe area. Could do with an upgrade there but for many it's no issue. pool freezing , but thats about it . Hometime. NO air-con. Could be a problem in the very hot months. OK in May when we travelled. Sound proofing is poor, airport is not far away so landing plains is quite common. Nothing really, except there was no soap in the bathroom, a small bar of handsoap would have been good. I had to use my showergel each time I washed my hands. No problems at all. no free wifi in rooms.not enough mats for sunbeds. pool very cold.no aircon which might be necessary in summer. we had ants in our room, even in bed!!!!! the cushion were very uncomfortable. microwave didn't worked. No air con in room but it is possible to hire a fan. Would be a good idea to have a TV in the bar and we would have used it instead of going to the cafe/bars. nothing. wi-fi coverage is patchy. Beds were not very comfy and were noisy when you moved. Settee in lounge was god though. Nothing. Nothing to dislike. The bungalows just look a bit tired inside but fine otherwise. nothing. nothing. The sofa/chair fabric and bedspread could be updated. Could probably do with fans and irons as standard in all bungalows instead of having to rent them. Charges for wifi. nothing. cannot fault this place.
