  The neighbourhood where the B and B is located is very quiet and peaceful even though it is less than 5 minutes from a busy shopping area and key transport access points like the Gautrain and the motorway. The owners and staff are friendly and very approachable. Owner is an architect and it shows. Our room was brilliantly designed with every comfort you could ask for: huge bed, big flat screen tv, fabulous bathroom, fridge etc etc. Breakfast, cooked by the owners was delightful. Plenty of off road parking. The router in our room went down the morning we were leaving but the owners allowed me to use their office. Hatfields is a nice suburb and downtown is easily accessible. A winner.

  The owners of the Melvin Houser are fantastic... we arrived late at night, 2 days ahead of our reservation, due to travel changes, and not only did they allow us to change our reservation right then, but they were lovely about it and so warm and helpful, even letting us hop on their personal computer to cancel our Joburg hotel that night.Breakfast... what people say » was lovely, and the location is great...just a short walk to the Union Buildings. - I would recommend Melvin Residence to anyone on business or taking kids to University in Pretoria.   All staff members were well presented and took extra care looking after my family. Huge gardens that were very well kept. Good proximity to all shopping, restaurants and essentials. Will definitely be on my favourites list of places to stay!! - Situated in Pretoria but still giving you a bit of the country. Peaceful and quiet. Great service.

  Everything about the place is lovely. I would definitely like to stay for a weekend away from Johannesburg just to relax there and read a book and perhaps visit some of Pretoria that we have not already seen. - The area is well kept, It's clean, it's in the right location..
