The Mondior is in a super location within easy reach of Johannesburg International Airport. A courtesy bus runs to the airport every 15 minutes, 24 hours a day. Our suite was sumptuous and amazining value. The hotel is safe and secure and. A food hall with dozens of restaurants, fast-food outlets, shops and bank ATMS can be reached without leaving the security of the premises. A casino and entertainment is available if you are that way inclined. All in all, it was a wonderfully comfortable way .
all reviews » I stayed at Mondior for 1 night before my flight on the next day with my husband and 5 month old daughter. The hotel is right next to the airport and there is a shuttle every 20 min. to the terminal which is very convenient. As the room we booked was very small to fit a baby cot they upgraded us with bigger one which was very very nice of them. I was very impressed by the baby cot they gave us. In other hotels we usually receive a baby camp cot. At Mondior they gave us a real wooden bed which w. Close to OR Tambo Airport which is why I stayed and one is not confined to a hotel room - one can go out for a meal at the casino area. Staff was very professional and friendly. I forgot to pack international adapter and they were very helpful. Room was comfortable and clean. Although my room was above the casino entrance - I couldn't here any outside noise. It is a definite plus that breakfast is included and the effiecient shuttle service which is always on time. Great stay. This was my 2nd stay at the Mondior and without a doubt it was a better experience. The staff remembered me and I had booked 7 rooms and there were no issues, as for all parties having there rooms ready. The Manager was very receptive to our party and was very gracious to the whole group. I took my two little grandsons to see the Christmas lights and that was the reason we were staying at the hotel. The staff were so good to them. At breakfast the boys were each given a Nelson Mandela badge and really made to feel special. My compliments to all at the Hotel. Very handy location beside the airport with a free and very regular shuttle bus. The staff were great and always helpful and the hotel is attached to a food court with lots of choice of places to eat. Got in at 9.10pm and couldn't get a meal from the restraunt and was told I can get a meal at the casino area, which to it mildly was rubbish, a choice of kfc,nandos,pizza. The Chinese was closing and so were the pub restraunt. So a bottle water and two bits of a horrible chicken wrap. All was good... Nothing. Rooms need to be renovated. TV reception is not good, new TV would also improve the quality expected. the poor internet connection to be paid. There is nothing not to like. Bar area allows smoking, so the smell of smoke permeated that space as well as adjacent lobby. Rooibos teabags were not replaced daily. Shower door did not close properly. Internet is not free. The room is not so big rather than other countries hotel, i.e. middle east. room was too small . Wireless internet is too expensive. please be aware the swings doors before the lift is bit dangerous. when u open it swings back rapidly and could hurt someone behind you. This the MONDIOR hotel. When I got there they had no reference of my booking. this is exceptionally worrying as I have used letsbookhotel.com to book a lot of accommodation in the US for my holiday next year. Hope this does not happen again. to a while and then they found us rooms but still no booking even though I had printed confirmation. What is the issue on this???. Staff does need some training. the TV was tiny there was no in room WiFi - in this day and age, and in a hotel of this reputed calibre, this was very difficult to beleive. Very dissapointing, and will not return based on this, as WiFi is essential for business continuity and work matters. Poor Internet facilities. Wifi only in lobby, not free, and not compatible with Apple products. TV in room very small. Price. The restaurant was really bad. Both wine and food! Unacceptable that a hotel of this price range does not have proper WiFi in the rooms. Poor Internet facilities.
