Awesome place! Piran is definately a hidden gem. We have been lucky enough to visit a lot iof places around the world, but I was really quite surprised by the sheer beauty of Piran. Staff at Pri Mari were really friendly and apartment was very spacious. The apartment is attached to a really nice (and well visited by celebrities) restaurant owned by the same people. all reviews » Good location, near the bus stop and a few minutes walk to the old town. Very close to bars and restaurants and the sea. Very clean apartment, lots of good facilities such as huge TV, kitchenette, dining table, computer, CDs and CD player and washing machine. We only stayed for a couple of nights so didn't use much but seemed everything seemed to be in good working order. Lovely big comfy bed, staff easily contactable at restaurant next door. The groundfloor apartment is well equiped and spacious. There's a computer hooked up to the Internet but you can also use Wi-Fi. The owner is very helpful. The location is perfect as there is a beach just in front of the hotel and it takes merely five minutes to get to the main square. The hotel has no parking. The best way is to park your carnin the parking close to the entrance to the town. It costs €17 per night. Extremely friendly and helpfull staff, fully equipped apartment, good location, excellent restaurant ("Gostilna Pri Mari") - we tried sardines in sour sauce, mussels alla marinara, grilled octopus and squid, grilled sea bass fillet, risotto with prawns and saffron sauce - everything was perfect!. Self contained and value for money. I cannot fault this place!. However, the apartment is quite dark and somber. The window in the bedroom overlooks a wall hence there's almost no daylight there. The living room overlooks the main street so you can imagine how noisy it can get especially in the morning. It is very disturbing and it prevents you from sleeping. Even though the access to Piran is restricted there is still plenty of traffic. Bedroom has only one small window to the backyard - the room is too dark. No jug kettle, the fridge was a bit dirty... If travelling by car, unofficial free parking is available in front of the Casino Bernardin - cca 800 meters from Apartments Pri Mari. Public bus operates regularly between Piran and Portorož (via Bernardin), but the connection to Trieste, Venice, Ljubljana or Pula (and all international airports in the region) is poor - the car is necessary in my opinion... The room is behind a reatuarant on the beacb side, the only such building in tbe whe area that. blocks view. On busy road but well insulatd from noise. We had the ground floor apt which is pretty dark at all times so it didn't feel like someplace to linger. The towels were treadbare and old & the showerhead kept falling off it's stand when least expected. We were in the infamous ddark and dreary grd floor unit. Noise was also ever present. Street and sea views.......give me a break. The internet barely worked inside the apartment and the tv signal is awful. A bit noisy because the front room is at ground level immediately next to the footpath, major road and pedestrians. Our front door was mistaken for the pub entrance next door. There is some traffic in front of the apartment as it is located on the ground floor. The apartment is quite humid. Right on the road but traffic stopped at night. Oven was dirty.
