The location at the Plaza de Amas could not be better for sightseeing, shopping and access to restaurants. The staff was most helpful in calling for taxis, even going out to the plaza to make sure I got in the right taxi. On my departure, there was some event in the plaza that prevented taxis to pickup so they arranged for a staff member to carry my luggage to a street on the back of the plaza to get a taxi to the airport. Breakfast was extensive and I really appreciated the soft rolls after ha.

Also kindly did my online check in for my flight on the day after, as the internet went down at the time , and he did it for me during his night shift. Muchas Gracias Darwin. Helpful desk staff, comfortable lounge and extra hospitality (chocolates) from the staff. The hotel was the residence of the Viceroy from Spain during the colonial period. Much of the decor and furniture are authentic antiques and add to the classical ambience. Excellent location. The staff were extremely helpful with organising a visit to the sacred valley, and stored some of our luggage when we went to Machu Picchu without hesitation. The wifi is not perfect, but quite good. The view was fabulous! We decided to stay two nights in a suite and loved the luxurious feel of the hotel room. The bed was really soft and huge. The breakfast buffet was great too. I think the staff made our stay very pleasant. They were very helpful in helping us find information, arranging transportation, giving us advice about the city, etc... Excellent location. Staff extremely willing to accommodate our needs: They helped us with the tickets to MP, transportation and luggage storage. I wish the staff had intervened in a sales pitch from a tourist services vendor that followed us into the hotel from the taxi prior to registration. Very weak pressure in the shower, otherwise no complaints. Kind of noisy at night because you are overlooking the bustling plaza. Neither of us were ever able to sleep through the night, despite the comfort of the room. We stayed here twice, in two different rooms. the shower pressure in one of them was a bit low. What's not to like. The only complaint is you can hear of lot of what's going on down either at the reception desk or outside from inside your room. The hotel/hostel had NO water pressure. I showered in a drip. Run show for 5 minutes for hot water. Poor soundproofing. Basic breakfast. Worn floor. Heavy blanket. Stain bed sheet. Squeakly bed - heard other guests on their honeymoon ;). Expensive, but you're paying for the excellent location. the shower temperature kept jumping up and down, as the other guests tried to regulate their showers. ridiculous plumbing. you can see a small pipe feeding several bathrooms. we staid for two nights, on the last day we had no hot water do to temp error, so maybe we were just unlucky. stay away from room 204... very noisy, shower takes a while to warm (although eventually it did). Noisy, could hear every voice and movement in the hall. On one evening, a guest at the hotel was yelling and shouting obscenities until late in the evening. SInce the hotel is not sound very sound proof, this was very concerning and the staff did not address the situation. Breakfast buffet was just ok. no black courtains at the window. Street noise, you are in the heart of the city. Good with the bad. bathrooms a bit outdated. hard to find a balance between cold and hot water in the shower: it get's either too cold or too hot. Room was too cold but there was a space heater. Hotel left windows open so it took a long time to heat .
