pretty hotel, for nature explorers it is a very good location (mountains, wild coast) seafood restaurant was quite expensive for average food, breakfast egg chef was a busy, hard working person producing excellent qualtiy, buffet in the evening was okay but not very high in meal quality - but perfect for the package tourists from Germany and Scandinavia, as an individual tourist it would be nice to have one really nice a la carte restaurant with traditional food; room was very pretty and clean,.
all reviews » A luxurious hotel - a minimum of 2 days is needed to enjoy the facilities it offers. If you being pampered, this is the place to be. Very friendly , professional and helpful staff, especially Mr Abdul Hannan who was very kind and attentive towards my needs. He made quite an impression on me ; the others too and that is why I will be staying at Marriott Resort in September 2014 for 3 days. Buffet breakfast is great-many choices for guests. Great job, Marriot! Keep it up !. Size - The hotel is situated in a big property - acres of land. Huge pool. Location - Away from the city, in a very quiet place. Close enough to dhofar mountains. Food - we had a buffet dinner which had a decent spread and it tasted good. Rooms - we chose a deluxe double room. it was spacious enough with a balcony with sea and mountain views. However, the mountain view will largely depend on the weather. Location is great if you like to stay away from the main town which full of traffic and tourists during Khareef season. Staff and management were very helpful and accomodating. Special thanks goes to Alam (wonder why he is still a "trainee", definitely deserves a promotion soon) who served us the best sheesha we ever tried and that was always done with a big smile. The hotel has a beautiful location. the staff are all excellent with super customer service skills. F & B was also quite good and good value for money. It is a great place for a relaxed holiday with kids away from the city hassle. Beautiful hotel, very quiet which is what we like......georgeous swimming pool. The pool design is nice. The reception, cleaning service, waiter, pool life guard and bell boy staff are very kind and helpful. Far from the city; it is located in a lovely place. No disturbances, beachside, excellent swimming pool, overall design of the resort is ideal for all kind of tourists. German all inclusive tourists ruin the natural atmosphere of that gorgeous enviroment - they are mainly interested in sunchairs and alcohol from 6 pm on - they do not seem to be interested in the Oman - but if one avoids having that crowd around to much it is fine. It is very isolated ; most resorts are. However the hotel offers a transfer service -to and from Salalah aiport at no additional cost. So I guess the isolation is the only negative comment I have to make. Connectivity - the rooms didn't have wifi, only common areas like lobbies and restaurant had it. Location - some people may find the location inconvenient, as salalah airport is 70+ kms away and so is salalah town. Mughsail beach is 100kms away. But our primary destination was the dhofar mountains, which is less than 40kms away, and wont take more than 20-25mins on car.. Chalets are far from the main hotel building and from the swimming pool, and, my guess, they are not maintained as well as the main building rooms, although still very clean. So if you're not travelling with a big family or company of friends, there is no benefit in staying there. The outside piped music might eventually get on your nerves!!. it was far from salalah took us abt an hour and a half to reach there. They was no water hosepipe in the bath room which we were very disappointed in. It would have been better if they had indoor swimming pools. The shuttle bus trip was not organised they had to drop us at some shopping stores for half an hour when we didn't want to just to pick another bus. The nacho that we ordered in one evening was not crunchy and crumbles (broken in small pieces). The waiter replaced it quickly with a new plate of nacho, but still not crunchy enough. Seems only warmed in micro wave but the nacho itself is not fresh from it's packaging. Need to give more training to staffs'; their language needs improvement. The thing which I don't like it, there is no wireless Internet in the room and no WFI. There are only few restaurant no other options because is too far from everything, worst is some of them is close in a specific day! It's too hard to get a transportation going to another place, they don't even have a private hotel car. Yes they have a shuttle going to souk or airport but in a certain time & depends on availability. Too far from Salalah city and long travel distances to any location from the hotel, especially when you rent a car and are limited by the mileage per day. The food in the restaurant was average and very economical the price of food and beverage is high comparing to its quality. location, price, limitted options for food. Location... too far from any major city, tourist spot or Airport. Lack of basic Facilities like an ATM. Language of staffs, color of the tiles in swimming pool. Internet access is very bad and does not cover all resort nearest shop is 15KM from teh hotel. Far from the city Expensive food and restaurant. no entertainment at all..just food and pool. Only issues is there are no clear direction to the hotel, we lost twice to find the way to the hotel. Too far from city. Location is too far from Salalah city. buffet and foods is expensive. No WFI connection is available for the smart phone in the rooms plus it slow in the lobby They don't have buffet neither for lunch nor dinner They should show the taxes amount in thier rates. The inflexibility of the manager to accommodate our change of dates as we missed our flights. He gave in eventually however he could have mad it easier. Poor response of room Service. I didn't like the facilities as well as the services. location was tooooo far. Staff. not given breakfast which used to get anywhere hotel as complimentary. Not friendly. I have executive rooms but there are no lounge suitable for executive and they lost my car key when I was about to leave for at least an hour. I think because they do not have customers all the time that is way they do not have experience to deal with huge number of customers at one time because I heared also a lot of complains from other customers. No one smiling at all. If ask again for new door key, they say we give u one why u need new one again. The hotel is far from the city and I have two booking and when I came the hotel I stay 1 night and I told them from day that I came to the hotel that I will check out and I want to cancel the booking from 25 of agust to 29 but the hotel not helpful I will not make booking agin from booking and I will not go to this hotel agin. Hotel is very. Far from the city, and the sercice was really bad. I was trying to call the reception numerous times and didn't get any response. The staff were unfriendly.i ordered food in my room and i waited for more than one hour and half.price was more than double in Eid days ,why!!!!!!. -Staff are not friendly - stolen two rings from the room - the beach is dirty - no fresh juice - to far from the city.
