Fantastic break in Marrakech and staying at Riad l'Oiseau du Paradis made the whole trip worthwhile. A real taste of the real Morocco. the staff were friendly, and very helpful even giving us an umberella when it rained. The riad itself was lovely, a real jem, with its traditional decor, and moroccan breakfast, we would definatley recommend you visit. Riad itself a blissful island of calm when Marrakech can be just a bit much.Excellent value,included breakfast was simple but really good,the one evening meal we ate in-house was good and pretty good value-with decent enough bottle of local red wine. Staff friendly and helpful.
all reviews » The staff were really friendly, particularly Mouad, who helped us arrange nights out and trips despite our language barrier (make sure you have google translate handy on your phone!). The rooms were comfortable, dark and quiet, which meant we slept great. The look of the Riad was quite beautiful...both the main common room and individual bedrooms. Stephanie was extremely helpful and patient with those who didn't speak any Arabic/French and even guided us through the medina when we were lost. the location (15 min by foot from Djeema El Fna in a quiet secure street), the beautiful design everywhere in the riad, the nice and discreet people working there, the breakfast, the large and comfortable bed, the large bedroom (Hibiscus). Friendliness of the staff. Large and lovely room. The location was excellent - only a short walk from the busy area, but quiet in the ryad. Hammam at the ryad was very good value. I would stay here if I go to Marrakech again. Riad manager was excellent; he really could not do enough for us. Had a fantastic time. Not much,bit noisy with kids playing football outside and inevitable mopeds but what would you expect in middle of a bustling city. The bathroom is connected to main room without a door, which might be a little uncomfortable unless you're really good friends! Plus the location of the riad is really hard to find and it took us a couple of days until we had learned the route to the souks. The Riad had cats, and my sister, who I was traveling with, is allergic to cats, so knowing that ahead of time would've been helpful. The price of the evening meal was a higher than in restaurants (20 euros/pers) so we didn't try it. But we didn't compare the price with other riads meals. Wifi was too weak for my ipad when using the bed room. Nothing. Nothing about Riad but could letsbookhotel.com make it clear there is a 4% charge if paying bill by credit card, this is a Government charge not the Riad, luckily we had enough cash. The bedroom was dim due to bulbs being blown and the drainage in the shower was not very good. The location shown on the map is incorrect; make sure to look it up by the street address or you'll never find it. The Air conditioner didn't work. we had to wait 45 minutes after arriving at 4pm, I think for our room to be cleaned even though I have reserved the room weks earlier. The night time staff had a bad attitude and was not very helpful. Nothing!. hard to find, but that is Marrakesh. Wi-fi was not working properly. We took airport transfer. In the mails it was mentioned that transfer+dinner: 20€ for 2 persons but after that they refused to give us dinner and said that it was not included even it was clearly mentioned on e-mails. So I definetly not recommend the airport transfer. It is better to take a taxi from airport for max. 4-5 euros not 20€ from riad. The curtain between two rooms was unfortunate- luckily the people next door were quiet.
