Loved the helpful staff. The guy who checked me in was so helpful, providing a map and showing me some of the main sites on it and the easy route to walk to the city center on. It is a straight shoot from the hotel which is within site of the rail station where you can catch a constantly running bus to the airport. The hotel has a large, good breakfast (cheese, meat, bread, fruit etc) and a nice woman kept it all tidy and stocked. The room was typically small, cozy and very quiet. I had asked f.
all reviews » Stayed one night on my excursions from Brussels. Gives you more time to explore around although the city is pretty small. Hotel is very near to the train station. About 10-15 minutes walk to the old town. Very basic furnishings. Queen size mattress, not one of those joining two single beds. Clean otherwise. Staff was quite friendly too. There are two Chinese supermarket opposite the hotel. The room and bathroom were clean and had everything required for a hotel stay (double bed, place for luggage, desk and chair, en-suite). Breakfast included in room rate - breakfast consisted of cereal, breads, waffles, cold meat and cheese, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, juice. Very close and convenient to train station. Enjoyable walk (about 15 minutes) to old town. I stayed for 6 nights and everything about this hotel was pleasant. Very well located, close to the center, parks, shopping areas. Free wi-fi, or better said, already in the price, is a particular item dear to me. I hate paying 100 eur per night at 4 stars hotels and additionally paying 6 eur per day for the WI-Fi. Good value for the price !. The location which was very close to gare central, and gare routiers, so Trains & Coaches were easily used. The 4 euros day ticket on them was superb value. Gare Central was the area to go to for affordable restaurants. La Fontaine was just a short walk away. The Continental breakfast was replenished often. Everything was perfect! No wifi in rooms. The location of the hotel isn't great, and did feel a little unsafe at night. The hotel is crying out for some art work, it's all rather drab. Too expensive for what it is. Breakfast is good but minimal. Noise from street.
