What a wonderful ryokan!!!! We only booked one night ( on a tight schedule) but would gladly have stayed longer. Genuine old building that has been sensitively modernised as required, so lots of authentic Japanese architecture/features, but nothing shabby. Not particularly interesting from the street, but great inside, & it goes on forever, over 4 levels & looks much better from across the canal behind it. First floor lounge area's design is really well done. Combine modern sense and Japanese interior element. Many open areas that people can just hang out or sitting there enjoy the beauty of river, tree and the building. Host is super hospitable. Very helpful at recommend trip in the city, where to eat and what to do. I had one of best dinning experience. This place is stunning, beautiful blend of wood and tranquility right on the water. We had a lovely Japanese room with own bathroom with an enclosed balcony view over the river. Watching the huge carp swim up and down was amazing. Staff very helpful Onsen was the best yet, all very clean, great location, lovely dining and lounge areas and shared kitchen if you wish to cook, free tea and coffee and they serve beer and wine! Perfect place cannot praise enough. This is the best and most value for money onsen hostel I've ever stayed. It is unexpectedly nice, clean and it's a traditional Japan structure. Onsen is good. The public area is very relaxing facing the river. Just sip a free coffee or tea over the river and you will enjoy your day. Staff speaks good English and helpful. Choose riverside room. K's House Ito is comfortable and not over priced, seems like a good reason to travel to Ito and discover the coast. Great value for your money & perfect location to explore Izu Peninsula. The in house Onsen was small but stylish, a perfect place to be at the end of an active day, to soak away all your soreness and just simply relax. Best hotel on our journey. To a norwegian it was very speial to stay at Ito, the ryokan was stunningly beautiful and the smiling and helpful staff was making the experience complete. One of our main intentions for going to Ito was to visit a genuine onsen, but unfortunately the water temp. Was about 4 degrees too low.The facilities /baths themselves were great, & the staff apologised in advance for the low temperature, so we didn't worry too much. Nothing. Very little dislikes, mainly the fact the the person next door was smoking all the time despite this being a non-smoking environment, maybe. The mix dormitory was a bit crowed when it's full. Really nothing. Just that the towels could be included in the price and not paid for extra. nil. highly recommened!. bad soundproofing only, but can visit here in off-peak season or during weekdays. Nothing!. The futons were a bit hard just to say something negative but all the other things made that up completely!. It is maybe normal but I was going to switch rooms so they told me I had to check out at eleven from my first room and could only check in at three o'clock in my second room. I dont understand why they dont make it easier and arrange not to have to wait so long. They tried to when I asked but in my hospitality opinion they could have taken the initiative themselves from a service-minded-perspective. House can seem a bit creepy at night especially on the upper floors if there are few guests. Floors creak as you walk. But that's all part of the atmosphere of the place. No car park. Facilities are getting old. Nothing. Find some small insect and one dead moth in the room. How to work the ac/heater in Japanese , in room. The other hotels of K's Hostels were booked out over the long weekend. Didn't like paying for towels. nothing. none.
