Loved the atmosphere and that people were friendly and easy. Also loved that the staff had a good recommendation for a restaurant when we wanted a kind of food that was not represented on the hotel restaurant list. Staff was helpful. Shuttle to the train station was extremely convenient. Walking distance from some key attractions. Breakfast was very high quality. Room clean and big.nice vue to kawaguchiko lake.breakferst very good lot of choices western and japanise food.personel was very good spoken a little english but ok.Dinner in hotel is very expensive.restaurant close at 7-8pm!!! I also wish that some of the handicapped friendly ramps etc. were better camouflaged with the decor, only because they make the space feel cheap. Check out at 10am its too late and check in at 3pm is very late but its normal in japan. The interior decor felt a bit tired and dated ... but probably in keeping with the age and history of the hotel. Internet was only available in lobby but since I was on holiday, this might have actually been a good reprieve. It was a pity that Mount Fuji was covered with fog during our stay there, so we could not enjoy what that mountain could have offered. A bit disappointing that there is no room available for viewing Mt. Fuji (although there is one on the rooftop for general viewing). Not really a negative ... Dinner was not the best thing. Breakfast had a big variety and was good. At night its hard to find a restaurant around, only lawson convenience store. The toilet in our room was a little smelly. Only thing hotel was very 70's/80's style, might need a little update on interior- but still very clean and comfortable. Dinner menue could be improved by giving a choice. English tea option in room. food is just okay. We were fortunate to be up at sunrise and were able to catch a view of Mt Fuji. By breakfast, the clouds covered it completely!. The small room. Hotel didn't provide instructions for equipment in English. Staffs seem to lack of understanding un English. The hotel is very outdated and definitely could use a makeover. Its a very big hotel and it felt a bit empty. Also, we came at a very bad weather and unfortunately, there is nothing to do at this town on a bad weather so we were stuck at the hotel. The hotel does offer some kind of "entertainment" but its not suited for a young couple. We ended up leaving a day early.
