If you prefer to stay closer to home and enjoy the peace and quiet of the beautiful surrounding countryside, there is also a nature reserve nearby, and plenty of scope for horse-riding, cycling, fishing, walking and golfing. The property organises cooking classes, as well as wine and olive oil tasting. Back at Il Palagetto you can enjoy a dip in the stunning swimming pool, with its waterfall and unforgettable views, or simply lay back on the terrace and soak up the sun. Here you will also have the chance to discover typical Tuscan cuisine, served with the best Chianti and San Gimignano wines.

We spent one night on the way to Elba. Fantastic Tuscan views, peace and total relaxation on the go. Maybe a little hard to get to the destination. I would recommend for people who like detachment from the crowds. Near the 20 to 30 km two wonderful small and charming towns. Good restaurant. Highly recommended for a relaxing break or stopover. The whole set up was excellent. The staff couldn't do enough to help you, whether it was about your room, the local towns or where the nicest beaches were. They also spoke very good English. The room was great with everything you could need and was overlooking the valley and Volterra.
