Hotel close to the lovely communal gardens and a short walk down from the bus station and 3-5 minutes walk from the centre / Teatro Greco theatre. Friendly and helpful staff. 24/7 bar. Lounge areas have a big country-house feel. Good size double room with sea view and shared balcony gave a super vista. Breakfast room with large open windows to the sea / garden and alternative balcony or other lounge areas. Room had a good size bathroom and shower over ample bath. Air con is modern and rel.
all reviews » We are a couple in our mid thirties with a young son, Joshua aged 10 months. We have stayed at many 5 star hotels over the years and I can honestly say that this 3 star hotel absolutely beat all of the 5 stars in a number of ways. Joshua on the front desk is exceptionally good at his job and so to is his Manager. They are a real asset to the hotel and every other member of staff was excellent to deal with. The hotel is situated in an excellent position and the views are stunning around the pool. From our room and balcony we enjoyed a splendid view over the Bay of Naxos and Mt. Etna, and from it we could look down and view the cascading gardens and the pool. The service was personal, friendly and efficient. The common rooms afforded views, comfortable sofas, and books, and the corridors contained interesting artwork, and the lower stairway passages decorative sections of the raw stone against which the hotel is constructed. One wouldn't need to leave the hotel at all, but the public gar. My visit coincided with the low season when the hotel was undergoing renovations. I was allocated a self contained studio apartment nearby and it was an excellent experience. The view of the beach town of Naxos in one direction and Mt Etna in the other was stupendous. I catered for myself in a compact and functional kitchenette and I had all that I needed. The staff were friendly and most helpful. The staff were all very helpful. The hotel was very clean. The choice at breakfast was very good. Lunches by the swimming pool were very tasty. We also liked the art books laying around as well as lots of other books to read if you wished, a chess and draughts board and a pleasant terrace overlooking the sea and comfortable lounges tastefully furnished. We were upgraded Free of chzrge for our final day to a lovely room overlooking the sea and pool . Breakfasts were excellent with wide range of freshly prepared food. Other patrons seemed to be mainly from uk. All quiet and friendly. Receptio ist was. Very. Helpful when I had trouble with my .mobile. Our hotel room with a terrace was so lovely as we were surrounded by flowers and looked down to orange trees and overlooked the sea. The staff were absolutely lovely and efficient and it was like a little Eden. Also loved the town with some super shops and restaurants. We have been thinking of what was not good, but we couldn't think of anything. This hotel is a real gem. Although rated 3 star it had 5 star staff and service. You need to sign into the free wifi every time you use it. - Staff mixed up cars at the parking, and we almost left at someone else's car - Driving in Taormina is a nightmare. be very careful with directions - if you make a wrong turn, you are in serious trouble - Taormina itself wouldn't be my primary destination at Sicily for a beach holidays - far from beach, poor beaches, and average pretentious city. To get to the beach, you'll need a cable car - 3Euro one way and all together takes 15-20 minutes. We liked Cefalu much more for a beach stay. There was nothing we didn't like. Nothing. Not so happy with the reception on arrival for my wife. Apologies were made & a drinks offered prior to going for dinner. Felt they understood check-in could have been handled better. Could not fault this hotel. Nothing. They asked us to pay in cash because of a failure of equipment... We refused and signed papers so they could charge our cards after departure. chaos management at the reception desk (especially with parking of the car), dark room. Nothing!. Would be nice to have robes in room. expensive parking. Room a bit small, but still nice with lovely view Shower pressure terrible and took a while to heat up - staff were trying to fix. We booked a 310 euro a night room expecting a balcony with view as is advertised in letsbookhotel.com . we were put in Room 65, no view from our room, balcony attached to the side. The room was above reception area and street. We were awoken at 5.30am as the laundry van delivered and picked up 2 mornings out of our 3 never stay in room 65!!. Nothing to complain about. difficulty to park my car. When we decided to cancel our second night (at 5pm the day before) they would not give any refund. Nothing. Hotel charge 15euro/day for parking. The narrow, one-way streets make driving a big car very challenging in town. Limited parking and a bit of an uphill walk to town centre. Quite expensive. The bathroom was old and didn't smell very good. Bad advices about where to eat.
