We stayed at 5 different places during our 10-day Italy trip and La Compagnia is definitely our favourite! It's beautiful, new, spotless, well-equipped and on top of it all, the service was fantastic. We drove to a petrol station on a Sunday and only self-serve pumps were available. Not knowing that we wouldn't get a refund, we deposited 50euros which was way over the amount needed for our tank. A local tourist was very kind to help as there weren't any instructions in English. all reviews » Located in the heart of the Chianti region. Newly built complex of apartments, our apartment ('Polizziano') had a well sized kitchen/living room and a separate bedroom. Everything was tastefully furnished and in immaculate condition. It also included a well-sized balcony which was covered by the balcony above, a definite plus when we had a thunderstorm. Great pool, not that large, but perfect for single travelers and couples. Suited perfectly for rest and relaxation, not that perfect for f. This was a true Tuscan experience -- the location is in the heart of Tuscany, within 1hr drive to all the Chianti towns, Siena, San Gimignano, Florence, etc. In a small town that has a couple of small grocery stores and a handful of restaurant choices. Giada was super friendly and helpful: emailed us before we arrived with her mobile # and upon arrival gave us a highlighted map of interesting places to see and great recommendations. I texted her asking for a hairdryer and she was at the door . A very big plus for the accommodation, modern, new and in the same time traditional, nice pool area, in an olive groove and with a nice view over the Chianti hills. Our hosts were great and very helpful in recommending places to eat and travel directions. We had the Dante apartment, with 2 bedrooms, one big living, one big kitchen with everything we needed, one bathroom and our private garden. The village San Donato itself it's a pleasure to visit and to eat here. We enjoyed very much our stay. The apartments are new, very clean and tastfully furnished and have a beautiful view from your own balcony or terrace. There is a pool in the garden where you cool off and relax. We had a wonderful and warm welcome by the young hostess. Ask her for tips. The location is near Siena, Florence and many gorgeous villages. San Donato itself is a beautiful medieval village. The place is great for relaxing and visiting the beautiful towns, countryside and, if you like, winetasting. The apartments are brand new and we stayed in a studio apartment which had fantastic views out over the hills. We stayed for our honeymoon and cannot rate these apartments highly enough and we are fussy! Great location close to small villages e.g. Greve and equal distance to Siena and Florence. Giada (the owner) was extremely helpful and welcoming. San Donato is a lovely small town with nice restaurants and great views and is no more than a 5 minute walk from the apartments. The excellent facilities of the 1 bedroom apartment which was spacious and comfortable; everything was brand new, or almost. San Donato in Poggio is a charming village with a peaceful atmosphere where you can have pleasent walks and nice dinners. We would recommend it both to couples and families with children. Everything! Giada is a great host - she took good care of us. This is a lovely apartment in a new development, situated in a small town in the Chianti region. Perfect location, quite place still close to highway, good contact with the host. Great position, great service, spacy, quiet, clean. Value for the money. Hard to find from the main street, which isn't a problem except when returning to the property at night, there are no lamps or motion-sensor lights so it was tough to see anything! Sound carries a bit - i.e. we could hear our neighbours coming and going from their rooms and the main door downstairs opening/closing. Would have been nice to have a nespresso machine or some coffee available. Neither of these were a big deal for us. the mosquitos... please do carry with you a mosquito repellent, spray, anything, or you might be eaten alive ... Nothing. It was fantastic - just needs some bikes available but they are working on that!. Nothing. The building is very echo and the sound carries a lot. We could hear everything in the corridor and in the apartment above. But the place is otherwise so lovely I would just recommend to book an apartment on the upper floor or bring ear plugs if you're a light sleeper. Every thing was good. This is a new facility. Everything was perfect!. Mosquitos :-). The bed was hard. Evrerything was perfect.
