For mountain walking fans. there are many relatively easy routes to Fallère (3061 m). Aoilletta (2616 m) or Mount Rosso (2943 m) with the different walks lasting between 2 and 3 hours. From Colle di Joux you can reach the Vertosan valley. a wonderful green oasis from where you can get to the Court de Bard by foot (offering spectacular views of Mont Blanc). Another gem is the Gran Paradiso National Park. close to the small town of San Nicolas.A trip to Aosta is unmissable for those who love Italian cuisine. The town is well known for its great Roman monuments and its Franco-Italian culture. Worth a visit are the castles of Saint-Pierre and that of Sarre. once summer residence to the kings of Savoy...
