My boyfriend and I loved our stay at Casa del Borgo. We were met up by our helpful and friendly contact person who showed us the apartment. The apartment was on the first floor and was cozy furnishings. The toilet was very cool with a shower that was "built" next to a rock wall. We spent a week in the apartment - our contact came during the week with new towels. If you want to stay close to the main walking street and be able to cook your own meals, this accommodation perfect! Min pojkvän och j.

It was the favourite place of our trip, and we thought the accomodation was good value, spacious, an amazing central location and we felt very at home in the apartment. The large shower next to the rock wall was brilliant! It was also fantastic to be able to cook ourselves - very easy to buy ingredients at the small local shops (about a 1 minute walk it is so close!) and a wonderful change from eating out - which really made it so much more relaxing. A real highlight of. Very central location, the flat was nicely decorated with a well equipped kitchen. In the winter most of the restaurants are closed during the week so being able to prepare something ourselves was brilliant. It is also better if you get there by train as the station is in the center and car parking is far and costs 25euros per day. Great location for the "ground floor" apartment - only 50m from railway underpass but up 43 stairs (which is quite good for Riomaggoire). Good sized apartment with adequate kitchen facilities, comfortable bed and large, unique bathroom. Close to restaurants and shops. Easy access to the harbour & beach. Location just feet from entrance. Gorgeous towns with ability to walk between all towns. Ease of train access. Riomaggiore is quieter than other villages--more relaxing. Nice small, but rocky, beach. Absolutely a must visit and stay at Casa del Borgo. We were met very near the local restaurant and train station by a lovely lady. She walked us to our accommodation, large, incredible shower and bathroom. She also helped us with a train schedule and places to go. Pleasant, spacious appartment, with all the necessary facilities. Its a shame about the check in because the room was quite nice and convenient. The location was fantastic. The apartment sometimes felt a bit damp. I do not know if it was just our apartment, or if it's generally very humid, given that the village is right next to the sea. While there were heaps of plates and cutlery, the kitchen could do with a few more cooking utensils (especially pots). The bathroom was very small and uncomfortable. Bedroom was small but adequate - it did have walk-in storage but larger bags had to remain elsewhere. The unit did not have a washing machine - which would have been convenient in humid conditions. Needs an internet connection...possibly a tv or radio. It has a balkony but no view. - a bit noisy as the bedroom and living room windows look out onto the main street - the bed in the bedroom was very old and very uncomfortable. Lots of steps up to unit hard on my bung knee! Unavoidable in Riomaggiore so only go there if you can manage them. Tourist info centre lacks decent map of town. Would have been impossible to find on our own but one of the staff met us at a local resturant and took us there. needed updated kitchen and better utensils for the kitchen, the water was cold in the shower sometimes. The bathtub was small. A shower would be nice. The parking cost of Riomaggiore is too much. I advise to park the car in a nearby town and take the train. Very inconvenient to coordinate with the staff. The staff asked you to contact them advance so they could be at the location to let you in. I sent them a detailed email letting them know the time, but they were not there. I eventually had to contact someone to call them. Basically they have the attitude that the only way they will check you in is if you call them once you arrive. We were not able to make international calls, so we found it difficult to find the person who was supposed to check us in. We ended up waiting about 2 hours to check into the property. Didn't like the fact that it was really expensive and completely unserciced. It was also a pain to have to take all our rubbish out at the end of the stay down the stairs that were overly steep and have to dispose of it when there is no obvious rubbish bins to put it in. The noise from the street lasted till one in the morning and started again at five and it sounded as though they were in the room with you.
