The hotel and landscaped gardens are stunning and the entire staff were courteous, friendly and charming. It was our second visit and we shall undoubtedly return!. The enviroment, the kitchen, the very helpfull and friendly people. Inthe middle of nowhere, totaly relaxed!!!. location, landscaping, outdoor lighting, peaceful and serene, panoramic vistas, fresh air. Excellent retaruant but very expensive.all reviews »
Bathroom facilities in rooms were below standards -- small, shower (no bathtub) without curtain/door, no space for toiletries, poor lighting, not soundproof. Limited choice in dining. Unhappy staff, poor unwilling waiter service, poor aircondiong in the rooms, no bar to retreat to, exposed electrical wires in the rooms.

The elegant guest rooms all feature luxurious materials, valuable antiques and fine paintings. The king-size bed is either canopied or wrought iron and the bathroom features original frescoes. The details in the antique architecture have been beautifully preserved, including decorative beams, old wooden doors and stone and terracotta tile floors.
Travelling information
To get to the Relais coming from either Milan or Rome: Take the A1 Autostrada and get off at the Valdichiana exit n. 28; immediately turn right and take the ‘Superstrada’ towards Perugia. At the second exit for Cortona, turn right and follow the indications for Montepulciano. Upon arrival at the fork of Pozzuolo-Petrignano, turn left and go through the town of Petrignano, and a short time after on the left you will find the Relais.
