This hotel gets its high rating mainly for the very helpful owner and good value for money compared with hotels of a similar standard over in Venice. If you are arriving by train at Mestre the hotel is less than 10 minutes walk away, just take the subway from the platform, head away from the main exit to Mestre and follow the road (Via Ulloa) at the top of the stairs. The hotel is the last building on the left before the roundabout but the entrance is at the other side on Via Giorgio Rizzardi. .
all reviews » The owner was exceptionally friendly, took a lot of time to explain places of interest, trains, buses, restaurants and everything necessary to make your venice stay hassle free. Located 10 mins by train from Venice - station 5 mins walk from Hotel. All trains from Venice stop at your station. Regional train best value at 1 euro 20 each way. Train stop is Mestre - not porta maghera - do not get off here ever. Trains are preferable to buses as the bus is more often full and you may wait for 2 or . A wonderful, welcoming, friendly and ever so helpful owner provides this cozy, homey B&B in a fantastic location and especially if you have a car. The train station is a block away and the bus stops right across the street for fast and easy access into old Venice. By either train or bus you arrive on the Grand Canal for easy water transport or ready to explore on foot. The room we had was lovely - quiet, large and very nicely appointed. A typical European breakfast of hot/cold, sweet/s. Lovely welcome from the owner. Offering advice re trains, buses and places of interest. Maps provided with helpful suggestions and ideas. Traditional villa downstairs with large bedrooms & large modern bathroom suites above. Super breakfast, meats, cheeses, breads, cereals, cakes, optional eggs to order,serving from 8 - 10. 5 minutes from train and bus stops opposite the Villa.( This also takes you directly back to the airport) Train to Venice only takes 10 minutes and they run regularly. R. Mrs Lorenzo is super hospitable. We are first time in Venice and she gave useful and practical tips what and when to explore different sites and island. The place is nicely decorated. The breakfast is superb. Train and bus stations are within stone-throw. There are also nice Italian restaurant nearby. Not to forget to mention is the spacious parking area as we travel by car on a road trip. I highly recommend this place and will definitely stay there again if I visit Venice. There is also a cat . It is excellent of everything. We really enjoy our stay there, and if we got a chance to visit Venice again we will definitely stay here. The room is well decorated, clean and comfortable. The location is great just 2 minutes walk from train station and the bus stop is just in front of the house. Most important, the owner of the hotel is very very very friendly to us and helpful. It feels like we know each other for a long time and she is very thoughtful and provide everything you may need for . We stayed at Casa Gardenia with our 13-year old daughter in November. The rooms were comfortable and absolutely spotless. Lorenza and her family were all very welcoming and friendly and every morning Lorenza gave us detailed directions/information so we could make the most of our holiday. We felt like part of her family and our daughter, who is allergic to nuts, was very well looked after at breakfast time (yummy freshly baked cakes!). The location is superb for airport transfers and very close. This place felt like being back at my Mom's house. We were looked after for with so much genuine care, and pampered like royalty. The breakfast was delicious, and offered many choices. The villa was built in the 1920s and has a lot of character, along with all the modern amenities. It is situated in a nice and quiet part of town, right across from the buss station where you can pick up the buss for Venice. It is also within 10 minutes walk from the train station. Immaculately clean and beautifu. It was a fantastic experice to accomodate in Casa Villa Gardenia. Acutally it is a family owned house but very cosy and comfortable. The room is extremely clean, beautiful and elegant. I think it is a good choice for the couple especially for honeymoon. Although it is not in the Venice Land, it's location is still good enough to recommend because it is only 5 minutes' walk from Mestre Station. Besides, hoster and hostess are very kind and treat us like the family. I am definitely sure we will . The owner was so helpful and positive. Breakfast was simple but more than enough to fill us up for most of the day. The woman in charge met us around midnight when our flight was delayed. She walked us straight into our room knowing we were tired and handled everything efficiently. Casa Villa Gardenia has been converted from a stately private home into a very comfortable bed-n-breakfast with attention to every detail. Every bedroom has its own color and design, and the owner and went out of her way to make us feel welcome. The breakfasts were excellent, and the place was spotlessly clean. There's a bus stop across the street (though the return bus stops on a parallel street), a train station not far away, and pizzeria, convenience store, and wine shop within walking di. Everything was perfect! The hotel is only about 2 minutes from the trainstation to Venice! The train only takes 9 minutes to arrive to Venice. Big room for 3 persons, a very nice breakfast and the staff was so nice! The lady who owns it was very helpful! Perfect with a closed free parkingplace for our car! İt is so worth to live here and not inside Venice where the prices is so high!. Everything was perfect! The room was clean and cosy, enough towels, shower was perfect. The hotel is in a mostly residential area, not close enough to Venice to walk there, and the food and entertainment choices in the evening appear limited (at least to a visitor). nothing. none. Bus trip to/from Venice is about 15 minutes, with 10-20 possible minutes waiting. Nothing to Dislike. As it turns out, the room is just a tad larger than a normal room and is not sufficient for a group of four If you can afford it, definitely stay in the main Venice City.
