On arrival, we were welcomed with smiles and Maria who spoke several languages. For a small hotel which was owned and run by mother Carmen and her two daughters Sabrena and Pierangela, it has been thoughtfully put together, and the rooms were clean and modern. Breakfast was always full which lots of variations (fruits, pastries, cooked food) and Carmen always had time to make one of our boys hot chocolate every morning. We felt very much part of their family. They recommended good restaurants .
all reviews » My husband and our 3 kids just stayed at the Hotel Ancora Riviera and had a wonderful time! The staff is great and always available to help out in any way needed. We especially liked Fausto who always had a smile on his face and was extremely friendly and very helpful in giving us sight seeing information and restaurant recommendations. We truly enjoyed the Sporting Yacht Club located behind the hotel which hotel guests have access to for free. The pool was amazing and they have a fitness room . Family run hotel, three great friendly ladies, you feel you're more than welcome. Great breakfast, fresh fruit, coffee from automat, but on request, we got fresh capuccino every morning, without extra charge. Room facing street has a aircondition, clean and spacious enough for four. Sea side 5min. walk, private beach charge 34 EURO for three sunbeds + umbrella!Infront of the hotel there is a big swimming pool, free of charge, with sun beds also free of charge. Hotel is located in the Marine. Pa. This is not a very 'touristy' area, so it was a great opportunity to experience a more authentic side to Italy. It is a lovely area, but not an awful lot to do. We stayed for two nights, and this seemed the perfect amount of time. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, and the hotel was clean, convenient and good value for money. The hotel does not have its own pool, but has an agreement with a local spa to provide free access to theirs which is only 1 minute's walk away. Lavagna is a pleasant sea-side resort, ideally located to visit both the Gulf of Tigulio and Cinque Terre. Staff gave us what turned out to be really excellent suggestions on which places to see and how to get there. Hotel is modern, nicely furnished and decorated, and very clean. Our room was quiet and had a very enjoyable view of the marina. Breakfast is first class, including freshly made cappuccino and home-made cakes. We will go again to this one. We had a beautiful suite tastefully decorated overlooking the Marina, no through traffic, greatful place for restful sleep. The staff Sabrina so so helpful, her beautiful sister, Maria Grazia also a bonus, organised tours trains etc fabulous!!! The fabulous breakfast lots of fruit anything you desire unreal:-):-):-) we didnt like to leave this beaut Hotel :-):-). Very comfortable hotel, food and service were very good, there was a lovely pool available, staff were very friendly and helpful. it was in a good location for the town and near the beach. There was a good ferry service to some very attractive coastal resorts that are difficult to reach by road. The staff was really nice and helpful. Our room was great and comfortable. It has exceeded our expectations. We would recommend our friends to stay here, although Lavagna is not such a very touristic place.. (but we went to cinque terre from there quickly and easily - boat or train). Such friendly staff. My bed was extremely comfortable. The hotel is ideally situated near the harbour. Also a great fish restaurant at the end of the street. I will definately go back for my next business trip. Lovely reception staff / owners. They couldn't do enough to make our stay pleasant. I was a little dissappointed in the town and the beach near the hotel. We had a to look for some time to find a nice restaurant nearby. good service nice pool good breakfast design hotel. Now fridge in the room. But, it is possible to keep everything you have in the restoran fridge, so it was ok. Nothing. My upgraded room was not equipped with air conditioning which must be difficult in the summer. Fresh pressed orange juice for breakfast would have been nice. A sea view room would have been nice but not available at the time. Otherwise loved this Hotel. Quiet, friendly & charming. Lavagna is nothing to write home about, but it's closed to Portofino and Cinque Terre. Rooms could do with some ventilation. No refrigerator in the room!. No parking at hotel so need to park at the free beach parking lot. Can't fault it. The only bad thing about the room was the carpet which isn't needed. Surrounding area needs upgrading to improve overall tourist experience. train running every 10 minutes next to the hotel, terrible!!.
