Even though the hotel staff did not speak very much English they tried very hard to understand us and figure out what we needed. The hotel was very convenient to the train station, just down the steps. It was right across the street from the rail way station. It made it very easy to tour the Italian Cinqua Terra by train. The town of LaSpizia was worth exploring too!. Very good location. Very good price.
all reviews » The owners were very helpful, patient and accomodating. Almost everything worked well, and prompt help on one minor problem. Spacious rooms (consider that we booked well ahead), not on street-side so not any street-noise as in one review. Solid, good quality accessories and "appointments" consistent with a better-rated hotel. Goodf service and attention, as one might expect with the owner-operator family on-site. A February stay, so heating and A/C not a concern. great breakfast, great location right across from train station, tv, nice room. The Hotel Mary was close to the train station and provided easy accessto the Cinque Terre. Room was spacious , clean and quiet. Breakfastincluded cereal, bread, yougurt, orange juice, cornet, coffee, andcheese but could have inclued toasted bread and boiled eggs. The homemade yougort was eccellent. The room price was on the high side. Service from the staff. Was close to the area we wanted to see/transportation and local restaurants. Each room had air conditioning which given the daily temperatures was a big plus. We (4 of us) were all very happy with our stay (2 nights). The staff was very friendly and helpful. Convenience to train station, cingue Terre and 20 min. walk to boat dock which takes you to Porto venere. Breakfast was very good and included. Near walking strip too shops and resturants.The front desk staff were very helpful, looking things up on internet for us. They changed the time of breakfast to suit us as well. Location close to station. Very convenient location walk out of train station (currently underrenovation) about 100 meters and down 46 stone steps cross streetanother 100 meters. The whole town was like that.Parking was not avaible, but was lucy enough to find cheap street parking at back of hotel. Quite noisy as looks over a main road and the railway.A bit of a musty smell in the corridors. The breakfast could have been better, but it was OK.If you have room on front of hotel noise is loud as the 30 ft stone wallserves to amplify and reverb motorcycle and automotive noise. Probably that we were allocated the higher priced room when we would have preferred the cheaper room if we had known. No, the staff were very helpfull. It was a very quiet time (early December) not many nice eating places were open nearby.The street is busy, so the traffic noise is a bit disturbing. the wifi didn't work but they proved to be my laptop's problem??. Bar area poor. My room was at the front of the hotel and even though it was on the 4th floor, the traffic noise was sometimes unbearable - thank goodness for ear plugs.Not very personal. breakfast buffet was average. bioches were good. if you get a room which faces the main road it might be noisy at night. temperature in room was bit cool, aircon didn't seem to work perfectly. bathroom was small for two people. light in bathroom went off and had to be changed. would recommend hotel especially for location.Slightly too pricy. The corridor outside the room was very dark even during the day time.The sensor light switched off very rapidly before stepping out of theroom. The room was very small.very noisy, could not sleep at night. The rooms were not 100% clean.
