We greatly enjoyed our stay at MareBlu. Yolanda was a very gracious and accommodating host. She met us when we arrived, showed us around our bungalow, gave us a map and detailed instructions about where to park for free in Cefalu and which restaurants would be open in the off-season. Breakfast was terrific in the "outdoor" kitchen--she let us pick our time for service and provided everything we needed (and more). The bungalow was big with a front porch overlooking the sea. all reviews » Excelent location, just a couple of kilometers away from beatiful Cefalu downtown, on the slope with a great sea view. We got separate small "house" with terrase, clean and privat facilities. The owners were very friendly- unexpectedly received a great treat of home made pizza and wine upon our late arrival. Good breakfast. Really best option to stay close to Cefalu and enjoy nature tranquility with local friendliness. Would not hesitate to come back once again. Best place we stayed during our holiday. Amazing view from our small bungalow. Small beach nearby, but not a sandy beach. Very dark at night which allows you to see many beautiful stars. Our host Yolanda was very nice, she welcomed us with a beer and gave us good suggestions for a restaurant nearby. Breakfast was great, you can make your own eggs the way you like it in the outside kitchen. All kind of fruits from the garden are available. The room(bungalow) was very spacious and had a kitchen as well. From the room we had a very nice sea view. The bungalows are located far enough from each other so you have a really private sphare. Finding the mareblue was diffucult according to the adress given on the booking page. Better to use the coordinates. The host was kind and attentive. She gave us a map and informed where we had a dinner. Friendly atmosphere, the owners stayed up late for us to arrive (our flights were delayed). They also provided us with some traditional food free of charge as nearby restaurants were closed. The location was a short drive from Cefalu and had beautiful scenery of the sea. Breakfast was self service with lots of variety and also included homemade cake and fresh figs (local produce). It's a very nice place with spacious bungalows and we even had perfect sea-view from our terrace. The owner offered us fresh fruits from her garden when we arrived and was giving us lots of tipps as what's nice to do in the area and free parking spots in Cefalu. The breakfast is great with lots of homemade things. Very warm welcome. Nice family, nice rooms, much privacy, and they even have a private beach! They made a nice BBQ for us so we could grill our meat. We packed a towel by accident but will send it back as soon as we arrive home! If you are in Cefalu, this place is best to stay when you have a car. The location is fabulous, overlooking the sea (with the Aeolian islands in the distance) and Cefalu nearby. Yolanda could not be more welcoming, friendly and efficient. The breakfasts are remarkable, with fresh fruit in abundance and even the opportunity to fry an egg. There is no traffic noice. Everything was perfect . The room, breakfast, the place has a wonderful seaviewfrom the room. Yolanda the owner is very nice and helpful. We forget our sunglasees and she find the way to send her to our hotel in Palermo . It is a pity we cannot stay longer as the place is a little paradise. You can get fresh olive oil from localy grown olive trees. One of the best nights spent in Sicily. It's simple accommodation with simple breakfasts in a fantastic location. It is perfect for families as there's a lot of safe distraction for kids, but also good for those travelling around Sicily wanting to spend their money on food and other stuff. Yolande speaks English well, very welcoming, patient, tolerant and courteous. We had no problem following her parking instructions & recommendations for Cefalu. She sells her own bottled olives which are superb. I slept the best sleep ever!!. Close to Cefalu, room had a kitchen, plus the outside kitchen was availible, a wood fire grill was provided to cook our meat. Lots of home made stuff for breakfast. A map was provided of the local area. Very good English was spoken. Very nice location overlooking the sea and La Rocca in Cafalu, excellent breakfast served on the terrace with open kitchen where you can make your own egg style brekkie, helpful & friendly owner....we love it :-). Watch out for the steep road up to the B&B but it's only a short drive up. There was nothing I didn't like. Just be aware to not use google maps when finding your way there, as it sends you in the wrong street (the owner is working on changing it). Wish we stayed here much longer!. It was a little difficult to discover the location, and entry from the road was a challenge at first, though not unusual for Sicily. Nothing . We loved the place . Nothing bad. nothing. Making a right hand turn out of the drive way. Credit card machine was out and we didn't have that much cash. Bed was hard as a rock, the pull out be was more comfortable. None, just be careful when you intend to make right turn (direction to Messina) at the exit to the main road. The driveway is incredibly steep - make sure you're coming from direction Cefalu to make the right turn. Short road up to hotel is narrow - but only a problem when first arriving, okay in practice coming & going later. When you see 183 km sign on the road ss113, there is a suddent turn. If you know about it, you have no difficulties to find this place, just slow down after the km sign. Nothing. not that easy to find and a steep drive up the hill that is difficult to get into when coming from the East (towards Cefalu). But that's the only thing, the rest was wonderful. Location is not good without a car. A little bit difficult to find in dark. Location not good without a car. Access is a little difficult, its up a steep winding track and at night you could miss the turn off the main road, but they have a sign on the road telling you where the turn off is, and they send an e-mail telling you how to get there. Would I use them again...yes. The bed was quite hard. The shower could be a bit better The location, especially in the dark, quite difficult to find. A narrow steep sand road, but when you been there once it's no problem anymore. Tip: From cefalu look for the km sign "183" at the left side of the road. Immediately after that sign you will find the entrance. We only booked for one night, we would have loved to have stayed longer. A little more attention is required to the styling of the rooms. The driveway into the site is hard to find and awkward to manouevre. Getting back out onto the road to Cefalu terrifying!. Cold, ground floor room with little light and not sufficient bed covering. Despite the good intentions, the comfort received was poor. Nevertheless this place charges full price. Would not recommend.
