Great location, inside the walls of the Upper Bergamo, surrounded by history and beaut. Very caring people, attentive to guests' needs. Great breakfast and lovely little terrace in front (when sunny, having coffee there was a delight). Quiet and central in the same time (10 minutes to Rocca or to Piaza Vecchio). If in Bergamo, I will definitely stay again at Al Vicolo. This B&B is lovely. The owners are so friendly and the house comfortable and clean. Breakfast was amazing we came downstairs to find it perfectly laid out for two with everything you would want. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone. It is in the old town and there is street parking.

Best breakfast we ever had in Italy and a coffee on the private terrace gives an opportunity to experience an amazing Italian spirit. Very friendly and helpful host, even though he couldn't speak any English we had no problem with communication. Good communication. Beautifully clean and well appointed rooms. Lovely secluded walled garden. Excellent breakfast in a very satisfying area with Bergamo information and decoration. Very near city bus stop. Beautiful location in Citta Alta area. Very helpful staff. somewhere to relax and make a cup of tea after walking around ...there was a little lounge so you didnt have to stay in your bedroom.....it was really warm and cosy. good coffee in the morning ....not too far to walk to main shopping area ...but quiet at night. Al Vicolo is excellent based in old town to visit Bergamo. It's in old nice house with a little garden. Breakfat was good and Pietro very helpful. Relaxed and helpful host, great (5*) location for Bergamo Alta, and enormously good value for a simple yet clean and comfortable stay. Central location in alta Bergamo. Was very quiet. Wifi worked well most of the time. Breakfast ample and good. Good Location and freindly staff, right in the heart of the old City. Close to the center bit not far enough to be quiet. very nice place to stay, good breakfast. Owner very helpful and considerate. The location is great!. The only thing (which is a reflection on US not the B&B) is that the staff only speak italian, so it is best to make sure you have the basics before heading here. We did seem to make it through fine however and the owners were very patient. Everything was perfect, we would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back. Just remember if arriving late at airport and depending on the bus...in the later evening and night the bus does not go up to Citta Alta, but drops you at the funicular railway and you then take that up to the top then walk down to the B&B. Check the bus number..should be no. 1, but there seems to be more than one number 1. I think I got the 1/ by mistake. nothing ...great value for money ..only you do have to know a few words of Italian ....very little English spoken around Bergamo take your phrasebook x. Parking was not so easy. Nothing! Everything was as a good as we had hoped, and in many cases better than we had expected given the excellent value of the accomodation. Difficult to find, especially at night. letsbookhotel.com map was insufficient. staff dont speak english. The breakfast was poor and the staff didn't speak English.
