The hotel was really lovely. I couldn't get over how nice the staff were - even going to the bother of ringing up the room minutes after we checked in to make sure everything was to our liking. The shower was amazing with jets on both sides. Bed was very comfortable and the room facilities included tea making facilities. Food was very good, reasonably priced and received a complimentary coffee card on arrival. Entertainment, live open mike, provided in the bar was nicely balanced and enjoyable. Stayed 22/8 and was upgraded to a delux room. Pure indulgence . Very chic design and plenty of space . Bathroom had everything Could have done with a bottle of complimentary water in a delex room . Otherwise excellent . Bar a little busy with only 1 bar man and waited a little for a drink . Would gladly return. Out of 9 hotels in over a week this one is the best. Great Room (ask for a better room over a view), great breakfast, easy free parking with large spaces, in the middle of town. Vicki who worked the night shift helped us a lot to get around town and find a supper dinner and the oldest bar in Ireland, Sean's. My Husband and I spent our 1st night of our Wedding there in 1973 so we decided to celebrate our 40th Anniversary and we had a beautiful time, had a very enjoyable night in your Bar and have to praise the Bar Tender who was on duty on the 3rd of February. Thank you and we will go back there again. There were different receptionists when checking in and out and both were extremely helpful and friendly. We were in athlone for a night out and it was literally a 2 minute walk to the venue, the location couldn't have been better with free parking and wifi it's the best place to stay in athlone. I was impressed by the fact that a member of staff phoned me at home, prior to leaving, to check that my booking was all correct. The hotel is very attractive and the room was spacious and clean. Our only dissapointment was that, because of our ferry,we arrived too late to for a bar meal. The staff really made our trip. My mother was waiting on me while I attended a conference and the desk manager was very helpful in allowing her to have a late check out and also complimentary tea and coffee. These are the little things that make the prince of wales a great place to stay!!. The hotel is in the middle of Athlone, easy to find with free parking. It had a buzzing night life for the younger members of our party but was still quiet enough for the older people. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again. we regularly stay in this hotel and the staff are always helpful and friendly. We asked for a room away from the disco and they were happy to oblige. The bed room is very comfortable and clean and the double shower is fantastic. Def recommend to others. We just like everything about it. The location of the hotel is excellent for people who love to shop and for night life it is in the middle of the town and close to everything, the rooms were clean and tidy and very comfortable. The directions after we left the motorway were unclear, we couldnt see the left turn onto galway rd but kept driving and arrived outside hotel. On the day I stayed, the bar staff during the day were often missing from bar. On a few occassions I had to wait ages to be served. nothing - was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Was very pleased. Outdated facility, can hear passerbys and people talking in adjoining rooms. Band in front bottom lounge could even be heard in rear second floor room. Hard to find reception area from the street. Should have stayed at nearby Sheraton or a river hotel. Although enquired about noise from nightclub was assured itwould not be an anoyance but itwas.also breakfast was the worst i have ever had very disappointedwith it. Rooms were rather hot, and would prefer sheets to duvets. Although it was not a problem for us the nightclub was quite loud which may be an issue for early nighters. Nothing!. very little..had initial difficulty getting Wi-Fi on 2nd floor but got it eventually. No bath, needs a bit of updating. not a thing we always enjoy our stay with you. 1) I didn't like that the double bed was two single beds pushed together. This was uncomfortable. 2) I didn't like the area for breakfast 3) Or that I had to bring my own drinks up to my room. It would have been helpful if somebody offered to bring them up as I was afraid I would let one of them fall. Wi-fi signal could be stronger in bedrooms.
