  Lovely family feel and very friendly and welcoming staff. The pool and gardens were beautiful - a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle outside. My children and I really enjoyed learning to make offerings with the family. We felt very welcome and comfortable at all times. Our room was comfortable, with fresh towels twice daily and clean bedding, and had a pretty outloo - Huge bedroom on two floors for a really affordable price. Staff very friendly!   The staff are very welcoming and helpful. It is a family-run stay and the owner has very interesting designs for his courtyard which is a bonus to the stay. The better rooms are on 2nd floor, spacious and relaxing, and according to my mom the experience of resting on the coach and watching sunset from the balcony is serene (I missed it as I was en... what people say » joying a nap). If you expect party, or HBO/any tv shows you can't get it here, but these are not what we looked for either. It is also convieniently l - The staff was really great and friendly. The fact that their english was good says a lot about them as most people in Bali (even in shops) have poor English skills. Also the facilities were great. Tea whenever you want it and the breakfast is amazing. Each room had excellent forms of airconditioning, which made sultry nights a lot more managable.   The place is really good - even if you walk by foot, you can easily reach all you need in the city (cafe, shops, monkey forest, spa's etc.). The breakfast is nice (but don't take plane toasts - not tasty!). Room was good, a/c is working, but the towels and pillows smell bad (I believe it's because of humidity). The view is good, but it's not like ... what people say » you see rice paddies - just one square field, but still it's nice. - We loved our stay at Hibiscus for the perfect location in Ubud (a little walk from main attractions and streets in town) and nice view of rice fields. Moreover, the kindiness of our guest Kadek was great: she can support you in everything you need during your stay, even transportation and day trips. A nice terrace for breakfast with a special view on the area surrounding Ubud has been recently open!

It seems like the owner is not trying to make a profit but genuinely just wants everyone to have a nice time and loves engaging with people. They give you things for free like rides to the city, guided walks in the ricefields, and snacks, tea, and coffee that other places might charge for.
