We stayed in Villa Junjungan for 3 nights and had a lovely time! The infinity pool over looking the rice fields is great at sunset! The villa has a family owned Bintang Warung (food place) less than 100 metres away which does the most amazing food for unbelievably cheap prices! Definitely check out the Kecak dance if you are there on the Monday night - i really enjoyed watching the performance by the locals. We used a local driver organised by the hotel called Wayan Nurta! all reviews » We stayed in one of the villa's for 3 days and we loved it. - The staff/manager was really friendly and did everything to make us feel comfortable. - The villa was big, comfortable, clean and was in the middle of the rice fields. - There was a free shuttle service to and from Ubud between 9 am - 5 pm. - We had breakfast, lunch and diner on our porch just overlooking the rice fields. In the evening the staff put candles on our porch. - It's not located in the busy city centre, but just a 10 min. This is absolutely a great small resort in the middle of the rice fields in Ubud. The mini resort has only three villas so you have very much privacy. The villas are beautifull, very clean and luxereous. The view from the villas is stunning. You immediately feel relaxed and at ease. We had multilple massages as well which were great too. We stayed in villa nr. 1 with 2 adults and 2 kids. The villa is meant for 2 persons so we asked for 2 extra beds. The villa is big enough so adding 2 extra bed. Most intense and unforgettable resort experience ever. Very authentic design. Very friendly and sweet staff. The Manager of the resort is a culturally engaged local from that village. We had a chat with him almost every day and learned a lot about the Balinese culture. The villa Junjungan resort & spa is a little paradise in the middle of the ricefields, on the outskirts of a small village nearby Ubud. The spacious rooms are well equipped and look lovely, and the owner and staff are absolutely wonderful! The owner will do anything to improve your stay, including excursions, advice and a free shuttle ride to Ubud each day. Nice pool and rooms. The location was good just outside of Ubud. We would have stayed longer if there was more pressure on the shower. If you took a shower there was very little hot water (if you prefer to shower with hot water). At the time of check out some unexpected small charges surfaced. The breakfast could have been better. Some of the staff doesn't speak English. We only had positive experiences. Nothing. It's a little bit far away from the centre, but you can get a ride 2 times a day for free. It is about 4km away from Ubud, so too far to walk (plus, there are no sidewalks on the street that it's on). But, the hotel has a car & will take guests into town. And it's easy to get a taxi back to the hotel. Breakfast is too simple, maybe have different will be better. It was not at a walking distance to Ubud center but they can ride you and it`s very cheap by taxi also. Quite a distance from town. nothing. - 10 minute car drive from Ubud city centre. Bathroom needs plumbing work, it blocked after a few minutes of shower. A bit of sewage smell from the toilet. Food in restaurant very average but its not walking distance to any other decent restaurant (hotel is in Junjungan, not Ubud centre). Breakfast was really bad comparing to other hotels in Ubud. The accommodation was filthy, particularly the bathroom and kitchen facilities, clearly not having been cleaned after previous guests. The breakfast was very poor, provided in polystyrene boxes.
