What is not to like? The whole experience from start to finish was simply divine and if we could go back tomorrow we would. The attentive and welcoming staff happy to help you at any moment, the beautiful atmosphere of peace and tranquility and the actual villa we stayed in (room 24) were all equally contributing factors in helping to make our stay perfect.Ubud is the most beautiful place to visit and you couldnt help to be charmed. Thoroughly recommend both Kupu Kupu and Ubud itself.
all reviews » Staff were always respectful & eager to please. A misunderstanding about the room supplied was efficiently & satisfactorily rectified. We also really appreciated the gift of a special welcoming cake. Also the quality & presentation in the restaurant was exceptional. Every request & maintenence issue was quickly dealt with. This is very beautiful villas with mountain view. The room is big and clean, they were cleaning room twice a day. The staff are friendly and room service is very seasonable. The meals over there are awesome, especially breakfast. They have shuttles bus between Ubud and villa every single hour. This facility is the best place I have ever been, the view, weather, comfort and the staff were excellent. I stayed for five days for honeymoon and it was perfect. The staff were so helpful with the activities reservations and they were so familiar and well known about everything. Very relaxing atmosphere and attentive staff. The grounds were interesting (clearly some history) and well kept, and the spa was very nice and clean. Breakfast (included for our stay) and dinner in the restaurant were high quality as well. Great value for the money. The service was outstanding. Attentive and friendly. Beautiful views of jungle, river and rice paddies. Very secure, peaceful and romantic. The 'trek' through the local area with Darma was a highlight. We also got a free room upgrade. The grounds are beautifully manicured. The staff was outstanding and very friendly. As the room had been booked a long time in advance we assumed we were getting a specific grade of room, as I had been there previously. Unfortunately we were put into a room with absolutely no view (even though it was a lovely room). Management rectified the situation as soon as the alternate room was available so all ended well. The price are a little expensive than other villa on each program. the WiFi connection was very bad. We had a room that was at the far end of the resort so it took a bit of a walk to get to the main area. Usually this would be fine but we were very sore from trekking the days before. Floors in room were very slippery - be careful on the stairs. No balcony in our villa was disappointing. Breakfast was average. No shuttle to and from Ubud in evening. shuttle service should be provided to the monkey forest area as well. The restaurant could be a bit better, but is okay overall. The food portions were quite small and overpriced. The low end rooms are not worth the high cost. You would be better off in Ubud. Food and drink menu could use more local flavours. Mosqueto .. pats .. we cant open the door after the sun set cuz the flies and pats .. the prise high .. and the toilet could be better. No steam/sauna. facility is poor,no gym and sauna. Wifi was not very fast/connection not very good. Too many stairs there, but it isn't their fault, the resort is built on a cliff!. The toilet ventilation is bad. breakfest is poor. chattering of waitress at restorant. Bed mattress No availability for evening shuttle to town Pool closed too early No variance in meal options. Insects. Unsuitable for couple with young children. Steep stairs, inappropriate protection for children. You pay for services which are not working ie.Wifi, TV only working every other day. No batteries in remote control... Despite asking management to change and improve - no effect. Overall location is nice but you pay a price for this hotel where you expect all services available and working but in fact it isn't. Villa very far from the hotel Wifi disorder Wait 5 minutes to get hot water. Staff weren't as friendly as I would expect for a 5 star hotel. Felt over priced for the service received. the food at the hotel was the worst I have EVER eaten. I would recomend NOT booking this hotel simply as the food was soooo bad. very dated tired building, no attention to detail and old facilities ie tv, aircon, lights.
