I love the uniqueness of the hotel - it didn't feel like a cookie-cutter or formulaic version of a luxury hotel, like so many hotels that belong to chains. It is a hotel with great character and charm. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly also. The Hotel is luxurious, the food is delicious and the staff are very friendly and courteous. I had a few hours to spare so I sat at the lovely pool and swam and then had a very nice lunch there.

A very comfortable hotel with a colonial feel to it. The concierge was particularly helpful and arranged a guide and driver for our short stay in Agra. Everything, but the breakfast was the highlight, and the staff allowed for a really early check in and were incredibly accommodating. I liked everything. The hotel does not have any facities for children. No playround or toddler pool. The hotel cars, transfers and tours are very expensive. The room itself was quite expensive (about double the cost of comparable rooms at other hotels) and the evening meal, although very nice, was also expensive. It was a good to experience an alternative to a modern-style hotel (for one night) and I'd recommend it, but only if you're not particularly price-conscious!. Telephone engineer walked into room when I was in bed! No apology. I was a little disappointed with food and service at Spice Route. Really average. The room was quite ordinary, there was no free wifi. no free wifi access. No internet available in rooms included in price. Bit pricey. Restaurants quite ambitious in menus but not the very top quality and food and relatively expensive. Those added taxes are a little stiff and quite unnecessary I think. I would prefer to tip the general staff with this tax outlay because I think they could benefit more from it. Spice Route was good Thai - but not amazing in any way. Niets. Nothing. Though the room tariff is high the wi-fi is not free. Extra charge for use of internet. No complaints at all. The front office wasn't as responsive as I had expected. I had to remind them twice to send someone to pick my baggage during checkout. The room was dark and lacked natural light. When I asked to be moved they could not because the hotel was in "full capacity" As a returning client I would expect a little more effort on their behalf. I paid extra for an "upgrade" for a room with a garden view. What we got was a view of the back courtyard and service area and could barely see a tree let alone a garden. The room was austere and minimal in style. The service in the restaurtant was poor. check out spoiled it all. wrong mini bar charges, wrong car hire hours charged, one wrong breakfast charge....
