The staff were all incredibly nice and helpful, and they make you feel right at home. The facilities were great too (fully-equipped kitchen, hot showers with tub, and free laundry facilities). The bathrooms aren't gorgeous, but they are charming and everything works quite well. The location was good as well. It was quiet and pretty, with a big swimming pool/spa within walking distance, as well as botanical gardens and zoo. There's also a 24-hour grocery store that takes about 60 seconds to reac.
all reviews » The staff are really nice! They briefly explained where to go near the guesthouse and in the city center when I first arrived. They clean the house frequently so it's clean and tidy. They are keen to provide some local tips like music and the local stores. Generally, I think if you travel alone and don't want to cram into a 16-bed dorm, it's a good place to stay with abundant space and good host to talk with. It's not located right in the city center but I took a walk for around 20 minutes from. Both my boyfriend and I loved this place. Our host was very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was fantastic. We only stayed one night as we were leaving the next day but would have stayed longer. Right beside one of the outdoor swimming pools which was handy and only a short walk from the Main Street. Great terrace outside which was a lovely sun trap where we spent an hour or so relaxing in the sun reading before heading into the centre. Overall would definately recommend this cosy family . The location was quite near to the city,and is reached by a bus or you can walk in 20mins. The shared bathroom wasnt a problem,and in one of them, you can actually have a bath. The kitchen facilites were useful,and the nearby pool is much cheaper than going to the blue lagoon. The host val was friendly,althought she did get the bus company mixed up for our trip back to the airport. Luckily we managed to see a flybus in the city centre which picked us up. I would stay here again if I revisit. . Staff extremely helpful & friendly. Not only takes your luggage before check-in fir early flight arrivals but offered areas to rest & offered coffee & breakfast. Very helpful with travel advice to the point of waiting to hold the tour pick up bus for us when running a few minutes late. Excellent choice. Great location across the street from Reykjavik's main swimming pool, unique design and very comfortable space, accommodating and helpful manager. We stayed in an apartment that was spacious for five people, much better than anywhere else we stayed in Iceland. This guesthouse trully deserve for 10/10!. The owners were helpful in the extreme, charming and friendly. The double room was comfy, although a bit small for two. We paid a modest sum for a very good continental style breakfast, and excellent coffee. The staff was very helpfull and kind. The questhouse was still open at our late arrival and they gave us good (local) tips for Iceland/Reykjavik. It was nice meeting some real icelanders!. A very nice place with a pleasant host! Distance from main food/bar/shopping area is about 2 kilometers, so it's not great if you don't have a car and want to stay out late. However, we knew we would have to share facilities. On the plus side, there were ample kitchen facilities if we wanted to self-cater. A little bit far away from the city center, if you don't have a car, but it's fine for a good weather - chance to have a great walk ;). Nothing, this is a great place to stay. personally I find it a little far from city but to some it is an opportunity to do some walking by the coast if weather is good. (approximately 30mins walk to Harpa). No towels provided. Shared can be a small hassle. We feel it is worth it to save cash with the weak dollar. Poor wifi, we had to use the neighbor's one. Bathrooms were often busy at prime times during the day - plan ahead and give yourself extra time if you have a specific time you MUST be ready in the morning (i.e. for a tour). It was all good. Long walk to the city. A little bit smelly hot water. But this is normal for Island. The guest house looked rather unwelcoming from the gate as grass long and outside area could do with a spruce up . Kitchen area rather squashed at breakfast time as very small area. Cramped shared facilities. Bedroom was so so, with no washbasin. Very small kitchen, not really useful for cooking, no dining/relaxation area (One is being built). Bathrooms a bit old. Price a bit high for these facilities, but all Iceland prices are very high in June. - Small room - Noisy. The room was set up for three people, not four, as stated on the website. Was not comfortable for four. The shower caused a flood in the bathroom, so only one of use was able to shower. When I stated both of these items to the staff, I felt that I was blamed for having a problem with these things. The staff did offer to refund 7000 isk after I asked, but it was not done willingly.
