This hotel, more of a farm reall, is delightful. The rooms are small but beautifully appointed with great attention to detail. Everything is colour co-ordinated, there are tea lights and matches, a proper jar of coffee on the tea tray and in the bathroom - straighteners ! Outside there are lambs and horses and ducks and a covered area with an enormous fire where you could sit outside at any time of year, even in Iceland.
all reviews » This is a little hotel at a farm basically in the middle of nowhere. We stayed there off season and it was very quiet (exactly what we were looking for). The room was very clean. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on the property and the food is very good, many vegetables are home-grown. There is also a hot tub there from which you could see the horses and the mountains around. The wonderful staff and the working farm setting. The meals were excellent We recommend the Gnomaborgari and the vegetable soup which we had each of the three nights we were there. Our room (#2) was very clean and comfortable. The stark beauty of the surrounding landscape can keep a person transfixed. Great place to see the Northern Lights!. As there happened to be a problem with our booking, there was no place for us in the guesthouse. Upon arrival, we were informed that a room was booked for us in a nearby hotel. To compensate for the inconvenience we recieved a free 3 course menu in the guesthouse!! Very nice food and very friendly people is all we can say!. There are two hot tubs next to a running river with ducks swimming from a distance :) The hotel staff is friendly. The hotel restaurant food is good, but not cheap. They provided good range of facilities in the room and communal area. The room is not spacious or luxury, but it is cosy and nicely decorated. very good dinner! one of the best we had during the travel. very helpful and friendly people (we had a problem with the booking date and finally resolved it. because of the problem we got part of the dinner for free). We really loved the room. Tv, wine-cooler, hairdryer and even a straightening iron! There where two hot tubes where you had the mountains as a wiew. A plus was all the cute animals they had :). We liked our first stay so much, we came back and stayed again on our trip back from the North of Iceland. Loved the food, the atmosphere, the hot tub, the views, and the hosts!!!. Hot tubs, you can find robes in your wardrobe. There are some cute lambs nearby. Nice farm, very nice owners, nice view and comfortable room - the best comination to start to explore West of Iceland. Good price got through letsbookhotel.com. horse watching us through the window, observation of country live - ducks etc. The location is remote, nothing else around. The room was small (although this seems to be a very common problem in Iceland). The room didn't have a clock which was inconvenient. We did not mind this, but others might: you will have to drive a little bit to see any interesting sites. Borganes is about a 20 minute drive away; that is not a long drive. you can see a lot of DIY works in the room. The hotel is in the middle of nowehere. Nothing !. shower. Facilities look 30 years old despite being renovated in 2005. Any notion of style seems unknown. we booked room, but got cottage outside of main building - it is not problem, but we found there a lot of dead flies (also in the bed), what was very disgusting and we had to clean it and kill rest of them. Water regulation does not work properly. Price is not equal and breakfast is not included (compared with 4 other hotels on Island).
