The check in process was smooth, a very friendly woman at the front desk. We stayed in a studio apartment with a private hot tub, and it was great. The room is extremely modern, there is a pullman style bed, however we didn't use it. There is a the appliances are all hid behind nice cabinetry. The view from the patio out over the fjord is great, especially form the hot tub. You fill and drain you own hot tub as you please with the flick of a switch. I believe even the floors were heated (.
all reviews » We enjoyed the apartment and found the staff to be incredibly helpful. The kitchen saved us a lot of money on food, though it should be noted there's no oven here. The hot tub was nice to have but not particularly interesting (no jets or anything like that). We did a northern lights tour with Saga that was particularly good. We also found this location easy to use as a base of operations for our adventures in the North of Iceland. Very good appartement, spacious, clean, comfortable. And very complaisant staff - we forgot one bag after our departure - we realised it immeditelly, but the key was in the box (on Sunday). However, the staff was very kind and they arrived during 5 minutes and open the appartement. Thank you very much!. We missed the date of arrival and came a day later. But we still needed two days of stay. The second night was provided with discount Perfect view from balcony. Studios with all facilities needed, super clean in a very nice location, just a 10 minute walk from the town. Ideal for nature lovers and skiers. High standard well equipped apartments, with private hot tub and someone on site to sort out any issues (we had a blown fuse due to using kettle and toaster at the same time which seems a common icelandic problem). No big problem, but we turned the heat almost all the way back and the room was still on the very warm side (and we were there in November), but opening the window a bit solved that problem. Unlike other apartment-style places we stayed, the kitchen didn't have any basic food supplies (coffee, salt, sugar). Nothing. We found no restoraunt around in walking distance. As the complex is located at some distance from the city center it's better to drive there for food and fun. nothing!. None. We had no complaints at all. Everything was great except the hot tub didn't work and it took us time to figure out how to use the stove. The absence of Wi Fi. Flat with Hot Tub is not big enough for a family with two kids. There was no garbage can in the main room or kitchen (only a little one in the bathroom). It was a little bit removed from town (15-20 minute walk or short drive), but otherwise the apartment was nicely located with a beautiful view of the fjord. Internet did not work at first, but once it was fixed it was fast and consistent. Location is about a 15 minute walk from the city center, but it is close to the airport and to some running trails. A short walk to the city centre - better options available for the same budget closer to city centre. Twin beds! Not a problem, but we couldn't understand why there was a full size dishwasher and a hob-top cooker with only two rings and no conventional oven. Location is not directly in city center, but for us perfect and easy to reach by car. nothing - it was ALL good. I didnt like there was no service to clean everyday , change towel ( you can do it on your own) but these are minor things comapring to what you get. These are apartments so remember to bring bath soap and shampoo. A bit far away from the city centre. Just a suggestion: Salt and Sugar in the kitchen and everything is ready for cooking (at least we thought about almost everything for self-catering except these both things). Only one shower between 7 people. reception not open on Sunday evening. Steep descent into town- our daughter is a wheelchair user so we struggled pushing her back up the hills from town. Design of shower makes it very easy to flood the bathroom ( and hallway!) if you are not really really careful. There was nothing I didn't like. A little bit expensive but certainly worth the price.
