Convenient location near to the city centre and easily accesible .Friendly staff,recently renovated, nice and clean rooms. The hotel is centrally located just north of the main boulevard of Thessalonik. From the hotel you can easily reach most historical sites and monuments in under 15 minutes of walking. The staff is friendly and speaks good english. You have AC and TV in most of the rooms. The price on LetsBookHotel.com is well under the price that you would normally pay at the hotel.
all reviews » I liked very much Nea Metropolis Hotel in Thessaloniki. The rooms are very nice and quiet. The stuff in the reception were very polite and helpful. I liked also the situation of the hotel in the city center. all ok and good price. Rooms very clean. Bathroom had a stale musty mildew order from lack of ventilation. I would recommend the hotel with conditions making sure individuals were aware of bathroom issue. Hotel staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The free computer to check our email was a real plus. the staff were so helpful and friendly all the time, nothing too much trouble. the hotel was also very clean. i would reccommend this hotel for anybody staying in thessaloniki, as the location is also in an excellent location for the seeing the city. The ensuite bathroom was a bit small and the shower area should be separated from the toliet / sink by a shower curtain. Although there is wireless Internet available, it is of no use. They use WEP encryption with a HEX key, which is tedious to set-up on a laptop and impossible on a PDA that runs Windows Mobile. WPA2 with an ASCII key would be a much better choice!. There was an odd smell from the drain in the bathroom. The bathroom - it was added to the room at a later stage and someone decided that 1*1.5 meters is enough to put sink, toilet and a shower. Well they are not enough.Our only complaint is that having asked for a wake-up call (we had to catch a bus on to Volos and hadn't arrived until 2.30 a.m.) we didn't get one - fortunately we woke up anyway! Also, although there was a breakfast option, there was only a tepid cup of coffee available and no-one to ask about more. We would have liked tea/coffee facilities in the room having arrived so late. There was no shower curtain in the bathroom. That was a bit problem...The breakfastm which is additional is poor, even at the low rate of Euro 5. the bathroom was really basic. Breakfast arrangements. you get what you might expect from a hotel built so long ago. parking is not easy (though hotel staff are helpful). noisy neighbours are annoyance. beds are separate and not very comfortable. maybe it does not deserve a 3 star rating but given the low price it's a good deal. A bit old, but fair enough for the price.
