The hotel is very conveniently located with stair free access, less than a couple of minutes' walk from the port. The room was very good with a cute traditional balcony that overlooked the hillside and the other houses. The staff was very friendly and the room was very clean. There is also wireless throughout and a few computers in the lobby for the guests to use should they need to catch up with their e-mail. I also thought that the price was quite good as well.
all reviews » Absolutely wonderful host - met us at the dock, helped with the luggage, accommodated our family with next-door rooms. He even helped take the luggage back to the boat the day we left - way above and beyond! The wireless connection was excellent at the hotel, which is often not true. The kitchenette was great for making breakfast for the family before leaving for the day. Charming, simple rooms with lovely balconies and private baths. Great service, warm and friendly. Fantastic view, with balcony and chairs. Reliable wifi. Double-doors to keep out noise. Excellent location near the port, a few seconds from a restaurant that was open before noon for coffee and breakfast (if you're okay with Greek foods like eggplant salad for breakfast, not traditional American/English breakfast - for that, you have to walk a few minutes further to the port restaurants). We stayed in the Botsis guest house with a group of friends for a wedding on Hydra. Antonis was wonderful - met us at the at the port when the boat arrived and was so helpful and friendly throughout our stay. The rooms were bright, airy and clean with a lovely view on the sea on one side and the hills on the other. Such a fantastic experience, we can't wait to visit again!. We stayed at the apartment in June for two nights. Botsis met us at the ferry as a nice suprice. The room was very nice an clean and had a big refrigerator and was situated near the kitchen so it was easy to use for breakfast. We had a nice little balcony with some kind of sea view. Nice and quiet. Everything is near by. We needed to get to the Peloponese from hydra without going to athens, he told us about a ferry which visits Poros, hydra, spetzakes then returns to Tolo, he phoned the company, found the time and place where we could catch this boat and the cost, € 20. Antonio is a superstar. This is a really special little guest house in the absolute centre of the port/town. You're right in the heart of all the activity of the port and restaurants. Hydra is such a beautiful place to visit and the Botsis is a great place to stay the night. Terrific, supportive owner -- warm welcome and assistance with local scene. Cute rooms, immaculately clean and a shared kitchen on each floor. Our balcony showed a view of the harbor.I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing staff, they are very accommodating and helpful and full of good advice. The rooms are pretty and have nice views. Very close to the harbour. . The location was good, staff friendly, for Hydra -- good value for money!! Great place to sit on balcony and view the donkey trains going by. Could not get hot water on my last morning, but didn't have any problems with that earlier during my stay. It was all great!. Nothing. Lack of an elevator is minor but may be an issue for some folks. a little noisy when the carts went by on the cobblestone street -- there was a small warehouse distribution place just across the street -- if noise is a problem -- suggest taking a room at the back with nice large patios. Shower was a little small. climb up the 60 stairs might be too much for some older people. Small bathroom. Poor shower, and a little noisy at times. Those upstair guests (youngsters) who didn´t know how to behave in a hotel during night, and over all in the house which is full of guests. Yelling, shouting, banging doors, runing at stairs after midnight was really disturbing - Mr Botsis told he had to warn them 3 times and still the noise went on and on. I was about to go and kill them at 6 am when the noise started again and lasted at least 30 min. Otherwise I can recommendate hotel to any traveller. Good value for money. Not Hlton, but...
