Matthew and Cheryl are absolutely wonderful hosts. Matthew served our breakfast with charm and dedication. Cheryl knew wat we like/need even BEFORE we think about it. Trip advice, practical guidance, excellent bar/restaurants, even road directions to get around roadworks :) The house, garden, room, view, pool, everything was just perfect. Breakfast was outstanding. Even above expectations. We stayed 3 nights (4 days) and we had waffles, french toast and omelette. Coffee, tea, fresh juice, delic.
all reviews » Our stay with the family and a family friend was just perfect. We only stayed one night on our trip to the Cote d'Azure but we certainly will come back to stay a couple of days. Our host Cheryl was great, the rooms were more than perfect, the house itself, garden and swimming pool are a beauty. The advise for a restaurant in the village was perfect and the breakfast outside on the terrace is something you only see in movies. Frm all of us a big hug and THANK YOU to Cheryl and her son who made . The Bed and Breakfast is in a spectacular villa furnished exquisitely with a breathtaking view of Avignon and the surrounding Provence countryside. Cheryl and her son Matthew clearly know how to operate a first class b and B. Cheryl took the time to meet with each guest to assist with touring plans. The absolute best b and b we have ever seen! Cheryl's breakfast was fabulous - a different breakfast offering each morning served on fine china with freshly baked goods and freshly squeezed juice. Matthew and Cheryl were fantastic helpful hosts who went out of their way to meet our every need, even before arriving cheryl had sent a welcoming email. On arrive we were welcomed after a long journey with homemade cookies and tea. The proximity to the old town of Avignon was excellent and a highlight was the pretty walk into an authentic provincial restaurant. We liked everything about La Douna. Cheryl sent an Email giving us information on how to reach La Douna, both Cheryl and Matthieu were so helpful with local information and the B&B was immaculate and well appointed. Breakfast was very nice and attention to detail amazing. Would highly recommend this B&B. Wonderful hosts. Gorgeous place! Very beautiful villa with lovely garden and stunning views of Avignon. It has a good view of the Avignon town for it's located on the mountain. The host is very kindly and helpful. Everything here is very perfect. Accommodating ,considerate family, wonderful house!. absolutely nothing. Absolutely nothing, we would strongly recommend La Douna. Couldn't fault it. Unfortunately, our stay was very short - just 1 night! Next time it will be longer!. Would have liked a clear map along with more detailed instructions getting to the location and a stronger warning not to rely on the GPS. It wasn't a problem for us but a note should be added that dining is not close by and one must walk a steep 20 minute hill or drive to dinner and then have parking issues.
