Wonderful place to stay in Rotheneuf, a quiet area of St-Malo, about 7-8 minutes drive to the Intra-Muros. The owners have done an exceptional job of redesigning the building to accommodate a quaint B & B. Here, we found very comfortable rooms with a modern decor and amenities within a historic area of town. The place is close to good restaurants, a nice bakery, traiteur and grocer. It's friendly and family run, comfortable and immaculately clean and set in the beautiful village of Rotheneuf, part of Saint-Malo. Rooms are spacious; breakfast is heavenly as they use local produce and Jean-Francois makes his own series of jams (I'd particularly recommend the apricot and rosemary!). The village has a beautiful beach, an excellent baker, butcher/traiteur, creperie and sea-food restaurant and a shop . The very hospitable hosts, the very artistically designed accommodation, the thoughtful amenities the decor in the reception area , the delicious breakfasts, This charming hotel is located in Rotheneuf - about 10 minutes from the centre of St. Malo old town, but one can leave the car at the hotel and take the bus into town. One note of caution - there is no elevator. The couple running the villa is warm and friendly. Their little son is also cute and lovely. The design of the house is amazing. The sitting and cafe area with open kitchen make us feel at home ( though I don't have such open kitchen and big dinning area). The thematic room is wonderful with bathrobes and many little detailed design - u need to feel on your own !. Wonderful guesthouse for a stay near Saint Malo if you are travelling with car. For a trip to St Malo, this location is perfect while not in the city. Although the rooms are small, the more than generous sitting area, patio make up for it. The owners are very knowledgeable & helpful with restaurants, sites to visit, etc. This is an excellent place to make a hub of eploring Northern Brittany. Very helpful and friendly hosts, very clean, superb design and a unique breakfast experience. Very cozy backyard with tables/recliners to relax i the evening. A great place to stay, owners are very helpful and the property is very well maintained, clean and has lots of nice features. There is a sandy beach within 10 mins walk and St Malo old town is about a 15 minute drive. Our only regret is that we did not stay longer. The accommodation was excellent, with an attention to detail that was extraordinary. We were a party of 4 adults, and each of us would enthusiastically recommend it. Friendly owners. Nothing - it was a great place to stay. For those travelling without cars, it's worth noting that the Villa is several km from the centre of St Malo. The bus service isn't bad (several times an hour) but less frequent on a Sunday. That said, it's a really lovely walk along the beach to town and Rotheneuf is so relaxing you may not want to leave... Nothing. None. Note that suites are accessed by stairs, so mobility may be an issues for some people. The apartment is some ways from downtown, so need to drive in - but restaurants nearby. The main street is a bit noisy if your room windows happen to face it, as ours did. Also, beach access is somewhat challenging. Nothing. Our room is rather small and the open plan takes some time getting used to. no croisants for breakfast, so we bought from the boulangery next to the hotel, because we just like to have croisants for breakfast in France;). If you get a room with windows towards the street, you could be disturbed by the noise of the traffic. My bf did not hear anything, so depends. Nothing. far from old town. a bit far away from the old city centre. nothing, everything was fine. Very far away from the city, very small room.
