We were very pleased with the room we reserved at the ibis hotel. It was modern, spacious, clean and very comfortable. Its’ signature is the Poppy. Poppies adorn the carpets of the halls and the room numbers of each door; very classy. I figure this was the nicest room we stayed in during the entire two weeks we traveled around France and England. It had a balcony that offered a wonderful view of the boats in the inner harbour. Our bathroom was a round fiberglass modular unit that was quite uniq.

The position in relation to the local bars and restaurants was excellent . Staff were very helpful. Room was very comfortable . We enjoyed our stay very much even though it was only a stop over on the way to the ferry port , it was lovely and extended our holiday . Thank you. The hotel was only 15 minutes from Omaha beach and the American cemetery, which was the whole reason for our trip. There was a fair bit of space in our room, more than enough for our travel crib for our 16 month old. The room and overall hotel decor was all clean and simple, which we liked. This hotel is very clean and looks new or recently renovated. The town of Port-en-Bessin is very nice and has a good selection of restaurants and bakeries as well as a fairly picturesque marina which bisects the town. A nice little hotel on the French coast. We had a trailer which was difficult to park as the spaces behind the hotel were limited . We had to unhitch and leave the trailer in one space and take the car to an alternative car park . It made things a little awkward but wasn't enough to spoil the stay. Wi-fi facility only functioned intermittently before becoming unavailable altogether. We arrived at midnight and had a hard time finding the parking lot. Nothing stands out, maybe an iron in the room would be handy?. Nothing. This hotel was an excellent find. The rooms, though clean and comfortable, lacked much character, but that's what you get in an Ibis. I can find nothing to complain about. Although we asked for rooms overlooking the harbour, two of our group had a back room, with s sombre grey wall as a view. We also found the menu for bar snackd disappointingly sparse. No Tea or coffee Facilities. nothing. Not very pleased to find dogs allowed into the eating area. The bed felt a little too hard. A slightly thicker mattress may be the answer. The breakfast cereals were all sweet. At least one without any sugar should be on offer both for adults and children. Being sited next to the boats, the rooms can be noisy in the early mornings when the fishing boats go out to sea. Poor choice of food other than breakfast, expensive food for what it was eg 9 euros for ham and cheese on toast. No vegetarian option at all. No clocks in the room. Hard beds. Expensive breakfast for what you get. Long lines for coffee machine at breakfast. Possible location to the town. Nothing really! Just found the port itself a bit too quiet for us!. No complaints. Parking around the back was a bit confusing, with not enough explanation regarding the entry gate. Asked for softer pillows, they never arrived. One slow coffee/tea/chocolate maker for all guests at breakfast resulted in queues to get a hot drink - either have a pot of coffee available or another machine. Breakfast otherwise great. No tea/ coffee in room. that it had to come to an end and we had to go home. No Tea Coffee Facilities. Twin beds too close together. nothing. Although the photos show the view of the harbor as very picturesque, we had a room that opened onto the harbor and it was so noisy at night with the fisherman working all night you could possibly sleep. If you're planning to stay here, be sure to ask for a room on the backside of the hotel. A petit d'jeuner was provided but the charge was 9Euros. Spending for what we got. No kettle or drinks making facility in room. Although the room furnishing was adequate for a couple of nights and the bed was comfortable, we felt the price was expensive for a typical no frills Ibis.
