Excellent care by staff. My wife sprained her ankle leaving the ferry. The staff provided ice and after care to an excellent standard. Very good value for B&B close to the Ouistreham ferry port and easy for visting Caen. Location and cleanliness of room, comfortable bed Free parkingHappy. all reviews » Convenient for Normandy Beaches and Ferry. Suited our needs of a bed & breakfast. Convenience to port. Good budget hotel. Ibis Budget hotels vary greatly in design. This is one of the better ones with a self-contained bathroom rather than shower and wash basin in the bedroom. Sat nav map reference was spot on. Nice breakfast. Convenient for ferry. Price. Convenience of being near to Ferry Port. It was clean but basic. A little difficult to find, so signage could be clearer. very small shower room expensive and little choice breakfast no restaurant. No english speaking channel on the TV a news channel would be good. No restaurant. We arrived at appox 22.30 hrs. It took 20-30 minutes to get into the hotel. The automatic booking machine would not accept our booking reference for a long time. Eventuality the reference was accepted. Next a Master Card and Visa were refused, both accounts in credit. Finally a Credit Agricol card was accepted. We rang helpline but this was not very helpful, their english was poor as is my french is poor. all good. Hard to find as there is also another Ibis hotel nearby in the same town. The instructions to find the hotel failed to mention drivers should not take the main route to Caen but the more minor road. Tucked at the back of a commercial zone. Entry kiosk very confusing - seemed to suggest we needed a code before inserting bank card whereas you needed to insert your card to get the code for the front door and your room. Phone number useless at 10pm. Hard to find, even with Google Maps. Booking had not been registered by Ibis, even though we had the printed booking sheet. As a result, we had to pay again - it was lucky there were rooms still available at 22 00. Very stressful experience. Luckily the lady on duty next morning was very helpful. Poor quality of Linen provided. Very cheap even for the cost of hotel. I asked for 2 extra pillows because the ones supplied (1 each) were very thin & was told I could only have 1,so we had to use a towel under the other one. At 6.00am the water was only luke warm, not hot enough for shaving or shower. The matress was rock hard. Booked the Hotel to get to the Ferry Terminal early, and after hardly sleeping all night I was glad I did - but never again with Ibis Budget!. The reception was not manned all the time and I missed a friendly hello on arrival. The staff were not talkative or friendly when they were there. The biggest disappointment was that the family room had a bunk bed which was not suitable for children under 6 and was not stated at the time of booking. We have a 3 yr old who had to bunk down on a mattress on the floor. There was also no facilities for tea and coffee in the room. Budget hotel does not mean budget on service or a smile from staff. Late for breakfast. Closed at 9.00 Offered bread water and cream cheese!! Very poor breakfast even if we had been there on time Wouldn't recommend.
