This is a delightful older hotel with nice room, showers that work perfectly and a wonderful attached restaurant featuring a wood-fired grill and very reasonable prices. The hotel and resto overlook a private park by the side of the river. The hotel was quiet, the beds very comfortable. This is a truly nice place. We would certainly stay here again. Friendly and efficient service both at reception and in the restaurant. The hotel has character and individual features not bland impersonality that so many chain hotels offer. Domfront itself has a very attractive old centre and interesting historical links.
all reviews » Friendly helpful staff and a lovely relaxed atmosphere. My daughter and I took a three year old and an 8 month baby and we had a wonderful time while visiting family. I have stayed here before and it does not disappoint, will definitely be back. The staff were friendly and helpful, and made me welcome. My room had obviously been refurbished which was pleasant, with a spacious bathroom, but it was nice to see the hotel still retains some original features on the ground floor. Staff were very obliging, friendly and understanding the wishes of vegetarian diner. Room was clean and comfortable; en-suite was small but had everything necessary - within easy reach, and spotlessly clean. Traditional Hotel run by the owner. Excellent Staff and service. Great traditional French food or a less formal Grill Room if you prefer. Friendly happy staff, willing to help & understand our poor French! Great food, excelkent value for money. The whole cosyness Staffs not on top of you but here if needed and very friendly The whole package really. The hotel hsd lots of original features...and was do typically French in character. All of the food in the grill wad ok high standard....only spoilt by there only bring chips or salad....jacket potatoes always in short supply!. The Grill restaurant food was very nice. Nothing. Getting to the room involved quite a number of stairs that might deter someone with limited mobility but was no problem for us. Nothing to dislike. Had lumpy pillows but these were changed the next day. The exterior of the hotel and situation on a busy road is a bit off putting at first. Breakfast was not as we have come to expect in French hotels. Quality was there, but not much quantity. Perhaps we should have asked for more bread & another croissant but maybe what we had is "typical". only that prices have gone up sharply in France. It was raining but nothing to do with the hotel. There was nothing we did not like. Not within walking distance to town. shower room was a bit small. nothing. none, shower cabin is too small (for me). Breakfast minimal... could have done with some fresh fruit. The old macerator WCs were noisy and smelly..... We did not like the noisy and smelly mechanical flushing toilet.
