The location is great; 5 minutes in one direction to the port and citadel with all the shops and restaurants and 5 minutes in the other for the beaches and their selection of shops and restaurants. The hotel is fabulous, great bathroom and pleasant views into walled garden. I really liked the staff, very friendly people and always ready to serve. I really appreciated that they took in account my demand for a room with sight on the sea (while I was paying the lowest price for a room). The place is beautiful and really well located.

It is a lot nicer than the pictures show we were surprised how nice it was, and at an affordable rate. Definitely recommend. I liked just about everything in this hotel. Hostellerie De L'Abbaye is a spacious and grand place but has lots of character and warmth too. We loved the huge room and outdoor areas, as well as the luxuriously and generously appointed facilities of the hotel. All aspects of the hotel exceeded expectations. My preference for accommodation is primarily location together with the choice of a boutique hotel. Hotel Abbaye ticks all the right boxes and I will definitely recommend to others!. Calvi is really one of the most beautiful places in Corsica. The hotel is walking distance to the beach and the old town, the harbor with all the restaurants, bar and nightlife. Very expensive breakfast - 18 euro.... Didn't try it. Please don't expect any kind of concession to arriving early - this place is strict on the book in time of 3pm - not a minute earlier. Fair enough but just unusually strict. I cannot think of anything we did not like. No restaurant. No balacony on our room and no view. No soap-dish, no hook for the face cloth, no real place of deposit in the bath. Wifi was extremely unstable. No pool. We stayed in October. Facilities were very limited. The hotel had a skeleton staff. It was not possible to get a sandwich or a cup of tea after breakfast (breakfast in the D/R was very expensive - petit dej in the room was good value) The hotel was in a very noisy location. There was no facility to get a sandwich and a bottle of wine in the evening -one did not always want dinner in the town. WI FI had a very annoying habit to time out after a few minutes and one had to keep reconnecting. No WIFI in the room. Nothing really. No pool. -Very unstable internet connection. It was really a pain. -The noisy traffic outside the room - Noisy air condition. Small bed (160x140cm ?) - relatively small room - picture of parking misguiding since parking is outside. Cleaning staff were stressed and lacked communication between each other, which resulted in some room changes etc. The room handling was also handled poorly and when I did not understand French I was yelled at. Not a wery good experience. Bartender and reception was nice.
