I loved everything about this hotel. It was cool and clean and nicely decorated and my room was absolutely perfect. I got the cheapest room in the entire hotel and it was still wonderful. Everything was spotless and very comfortable, there was free wifi, and a really good breakfast service. The best part was the young man working at the counter. He was unbelievably kind and helpful, and he went out of his way to help me find things to do in town. He also was very patient with my less-than-perfe.
all reviews » I staggered into the hotel reception having heart attack, the receptionist called an ambulance. Another hotel employee took my luggage to the hospital the next day and that was more than helpful to me especially as I needed a few items. His English was very good and he contacted my family and a friend for me. He even contacted the police so my car was not given any parking tickets, It made such a difference to the event and I am very grateful to all the staff. I can't imagine all hotels handli. The hotel is conveniently located between the railway station and the city centre. The building is rather unattractive, but once inside you get quite different impression. The hotel is clean, the room is comfortable, with a wide bed. The bathroom has got new & clean equipment. The breakfast is great with a choice of cheese, ham, eggs, fresh orange juice, yoghurt, etc. So I would say it's a good value for money. The staff in this hotel are really friendly and helpful, and speak good English. The location is good, a short walk to the centre of Caen. The bathroom was so small you cannot turn without knocking something off... The surrounding area - shabby and a bit noisy (some bars and night clubs). Our room was facing the road and as it was hot (with no Air-con) we had to keep the window open and the noise from the bar opposite was annoying. Sadly, the hotel is located opposite two nightclubs and on our night's stay there were revellers on the street until 04.30 and they were not quiet!. Door of the bathroom (did not close and was partly transparent...). Nothing. Shower room a little on the small side. t was a little noisy on the street - bars across the road were open until 3am but that's a minor niggle. Annoying login for wifi. The rooms did not have air conditioning. Due to nightclub opposite it was a bit noises at night but this cod be shut out by losing window and shutter. The lift was very small. When you got out of the lift the light did not stay on long enough. Breakfast expensive. Rooms too small for a 3 star hotel. Outer facade of hotel. The Rooms facing the street are loud if the windows are left open for fresh air at night. As the rooms are somewhat small, they can become stuffy quickly. (if quiet is wished ask for rooms overlooking courtyard out back - not a nice view but quiet.) The Door between room and Bathroom is frosted glass, not much privacy if traveling with a friend. Very small rooms. Room is small and the shower cubicle one can just about fit in it. According to Booking.com the hotel was supposed to be a 3 star hotel but it was 2 stars.
