A wonderful place to have a holiday. The resort is on an island with all the facilities expected (including a modern gym) and with space to be with families or to be quietly alone. All the staff are just amazingly friendly, (and a delight with children) and there's a variety of restaurants, with from buffet lunch for $30 Fijian to an excellent a la carte for a special occasion. I can only highly recommend Shangri-La for a first class vacation.
all reviews » The staff is truly friendly and lovely. There is hardly any dress code, very releaxed attitude. The food is very good. Good beds; I slept excellent. The beach is very clean. The hotel guests are predominantly (98% or so) Australians. But that's not a bad thing as Australians are very joyful and friendly people to hang out with. I enjoyed the hotel and I would go back there again. The beach and lagoon are perfect for sunbathing, kayaking, swimming and snorkeling. The recently refurbished Ocean Wing has new, comfortable beds and pillows. The view out to the reef is fabulous and the Coral swimming pool is close by. Private beaches with lots of activities, clean water, and tropical fishes around. Friendly staff and great food with a variety of options to choose from. Relaxing atmosphere and great views around. The location is good, near Port Denarau with a no. of bar & restaurant there. So have more choice for food. Kids loved it, Sunsets were lovely, Beach was great. beautiful seaside chapel; friendly staff. I liked that there was a restaurant and a pool that was adult's only. For a couple without children, it was nice to have somewhere quite to relax without the hustle and bustle of surrounding families. There was a choice of restaurants and pools so you could go somewhere different everyday. The staff were all lovely. The resort is right next to the sea so you get lovely views. The breakfasts were really nice!!!. The buffet at night is a bit expensive. But the plate of Spaghetti Bolognese is even more expensive than the lunch buffet... Weird pricing... I stayed for 10 nights but they didn't want to waive my first night where I had a no-show due to a problem with my flight. Not many tv channels and bad tv signal. The service in the cafes and restaurants was erratic - occasionally good but often very slow. (e.g. We waited an hour for two salads at lunchtime.) Couldn't rely on staff to deliver what had been requested e.g. porter didn't arrive when we were ready to checkout. Expensive. no fitness centre in Sheraton but need to go to Westin Hotel next to it. No coral coast & very windy at the sea so not much sea activity can be done. Food was not great and it was a bit over priced. I stayed in an ocean view room with another two friends. The couch is not clean enough and a bit small for an adult to sleep in. I thought the food and drink prices were quite expensive. And with the resort being isolated (no other near by restaurants or shops) you were forced to pay the high prices. The food was all good but not excellent as you would expect in some of the most expensive restaurants. The resort is also spread out across quite a big bit of land. Those in rooms at the far end of the resort have quite a long walk to the biggest pool and the shops and restaurants.
