I booked here for 4 nights and ended up staying for 9 nights! The host Kelly is lovely, kind and helpful. You will not find a better host in many places in the world than her :) The B&B building is a gorgeous old renovated home that is immaculately clean and stylishly decorated. It is safe and its location is superb. In the hip Barrio Brasil it is close enough to the city to see everything yet far enough away to be quiet at night and get a restful sleep. all reviews » Christian, the host and owner of the Abracadabra, went out of his way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. One night, he spent almost an hour on the phone trying to arrange a vineyard tour for us on the next day. Before we left, he made a great effort to make sure that the taxi driver takes us to the airport safely and does not rip us off. Certainly a wonderful place to stay during your time in Santiago!. Great breakfast, lovely staff and assistance with booking taxis etc. Good location, nice clean rooms. Easy walk to all the main city attractions. We passed through Santiago on our way home, and were happy to stay there again. We had no second reservation, but that was no problem. The stafff was extremely helpful and accomodating. The location was only 2-3 blocks away from the Metro system. Breakfast was terrific, including fresh-squeezed orange juice, hard boiled eggs, meat, cheese and fruit. Very safe neighborhood only 3 blocks from a large grocery. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful, the accommodation was very clean comfortable and airy. The cities attractions are easily reached eith by foot, or the metro with a station around 100m away. Modest but tastefully designed. Good bed and good breakfast. Any downsides to this place are far outweighed by the upsides. Some minor noise issues due to inconsiderate guests on creaky floorboards and stray barking dogs but I was lucky for the majority of my stay and had no issues at all. The rooms toward the front were large and bright but could be noisy at night. I found the shower rather difficult to deal with - getting the temperature right and avoiding flooding the room. Dogs barking all night and cars zooming by...get a room in back if you can. Rooms not well ventilated. No functional fans or air conditioning. Way too hot to sleep. No help from the owner or front desk. No heat in the building, tiny room, linens changed once in 7 night-stay.
