This is an elegant oasis in the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama. It is a short bike trip from the center of the "town" and this separates from the noises of the evening action. The rooms are totally charming with flagstone floors, lots of wood, bamboo ceilings that hide the ac outlets and lights, great bathroom with an additional open air shower. Each room has a spacious porch with all views of nature and much privacy. Kunzu has about 2 acres with the rooms all laid out in one ribbon spanning the.
all reviews » Location was just out of town which meant it was quite, but not a problem as regular free taxi to and from San Pedro. Facilities were very good (as you would expect at the price) and the staff were very helpful. Tours were slightly more than in the town, but the quality of staff was exceptional and usually only 2-4 people on a tour. . We thought the setting, layout, ambiance to be outstanding. The staff were excellent, English speaking but helped our almost non existent Spanish! Tours were well organised with excellent knowledgeable guides. Food well presented and well cooked. Staff were quick to respond to issues. Design of the whole hotel with all natural materials, beautiful spa, beutiful location of rooms with view of Atacama desert and garden. Wonderful looking place, fabulous rooms and other facilities. The organized trips are excellent too, as is the food. -nice room(traditional and new fashion in the same time) -friendly personal. Skip that bike ride south. But thats all the criticism I got for Kunza!. Nothing really, but the breakfast was a little disappointing, not a very healthy choice (much like the rest of South America). Having said staff were quick to respond to issues sorting out the complexity of the bill took ages but was done amicably. The nature of the paths between the rooms and the central complex is not smooth but in keeping with the style. The pools in the spa a bit less than warm. A little bit far from center of San Pedro. Simply not good enough for a hotel of this quality. -noisy AC -the balcony not clean(its true it is open air). Distance from the town of San Pedro de Atacama; not-entirely-reliable transfer service. The price was also very high for a business traveler like myself, as I had no time to use amenities such as the spa. No good coffee!!. Food was not great and quite expensive (wine selection was outstanding though). Too expensive for what it offers. Customer service could be a little better as well. 20 to 30 min walk to the city center, but they offer a shuttle;. price.
